About you and this role

Dow Building & Infrastructure, part of Dow Consumer Solutions, collaborates with industry professionals globally to enhance building design, durability, energy efficiency, and occupant health and safety. We leverage our expertise to solve high-performance building challenges with DOWSIL™ Brand products. We are now seeking aBuilding & Infrastructure Laboratory Technician (m/f)for our team inSeneffe, Belgium, to support our EMEA business by performing product tests, developing new application methods, and supporting innovation projects.

Responsibilities

Main part of the job will focus on supporting the Application Innovation lab for the development of new applications and technologies. At short term and for back-up situation, the job will also require the candidate to learn and support the Customer Support Lab where specific lab testing is performed to support our momentum business.

Application Innovation Lab:

• Develop new application methods and run lab trials.

• Identify and set up new application/dispensing equipment.

• Support Transformational Growth Projects by familiarizing with new chemistries and technologies.

• Develop creative testing capabilities for new application types.

• Perform lab tests according to protocols and write CRI reports.

• Conforms with all procedures and systems (samples, storage, risk assessments, MOC,..) related to the use of chemicals, tools, etc. Ensure compliance with Dow Standards (safety, code of conduct, team spirit, etc.).

Customer Support Lab:

• Perform lab tests (adhesion, compatibility, mechanical properties) with building and construction raw materials.

• Use COOL 2.0 platform to generate customer letters and interact with customers.

• Evaluate Dow products, support claim substantiation, QNs, and update claim profiles.

• Run lab trials and preparations to support customer trials.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or equivalent, along with additional certifications or training in related fields.

• Proficiency in French and English.

• Experience in Construction Practices and Sealants Application, with knowledge of Sealant Chemistry, Application, and Quality Control Procedures, and experience with innovative building technologies and materials.

• Familiarity with system tools (iProduct, RDSIMS, MOC, SAP) and strong computer skills.

• Strong interpersonal, facilitation, and organizational skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse individuals and multiple functions.

• Excellent decision-making, multi-tasking, problem-solving, and time management skills, with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision in an empowered team environment.
