Laboratory Technician
We at BASF Metals Recycling Limited, are seeking an enthusiastic, experienced technician to join our team in Cinderford, Gloucestershire. We are looking for a full time Laboratory Technician to support us to offer intelligent solutions for our customers for a sustainable future. As a member of the site quality team, you will provide preliminary platinum group metal results and base metal results, operating the analytical instrumentation within the quality control laboratory, including maintenance and calibration control.
As the Laboratory Technician your main responsibilities will be:

Operation of Carbon/Sulphur analyser and Thermogravimetric analyser to provide carbon, sulphur & silicon carbide results for material classification, collation and filing of results.

Calibration control and general maintenance of analytical equipment including changing of reagents and addressing minor equipment faults.

Operation of X-Ray fluorescence analyser to provide platinum group metal and base metal results for material classification and to support the business model of customer interim payments.

Support the quality team with sample dispatch and maintaining the sample storage area.
What we expect:
Qualification /Skills/ Experience for the role

Educated to at least A-Level standard or equivalent or experience in working within a laboratory/analytical environment.

Excellent numeracy skills and attention to detail essential.

Good IT literacy, Excel proficient as a minimum.

Ability to work individually, and as part of a diverse team, to achieve challenging deadlines without compromise on safety or quality.
