Laboratory technician for Raman laboratories (m/f/d)

The position is planned to be full-time and is initially limited to 2 years with the possibility of being made permanent if suitable.

The Leibniz-IPHT is a university independent research institute with close connection to the Friedrich-Schiller-University Jena and member of the Leibniz association. We are a leading research institute with state-of-the-art laboratories in the field of Raman spectroscopy. To support our team of scientists and students, we are looking for a committed and qualified laboratory technician (m/f/d) to start as soon as possible.

Your area of responsibility:

– Maintenance of Raman setups: You will be responsible for the maintenance and care of our commercial Raman microscopes and our in-house setups. This also includes the maintenance of optical components such as objectives.
– Cataloging and administration: You will be responsible for cataloging the existing optical components and managing and issuing them to our employees.
– Communication with manufacturers: You are in regular contact with manufacturers to order spare parts and laboratory accessories.
– Safety management: You update the safety equipment, including laser safety goggles, and keep the safety documentation up to date.
– Digital measurement management: You set up a standardized digital measurement calendar and coordinate the distribution of measurement time in close cooperation with the laboratory managers and working group leaders.

Your qualification:

– Ideally completed training as a physics or chemistry laboratory technician

Your profile:

– Specialist knowledge: You have a sound knowledge of optics
– Organizational talent: You are characterized by your ability to organize laboratory operations in an efficient and structured manner.
– Language skills: In addition to fluency in German, you have a very good command of written and spoken English.

Salary:
