The Opportunity:Key Account Manager at Avantor – DenmarkAvantor is seeking a Key Account Manager to foster sustainable and profitable relationships with customers by supporting their success. This role involves managing all sales activities, from lead generation to closing, within an assigned territory using a structured selling approach. The Key Account Manager will identify priority accounts and develop strategies and tactics for high-growth opportunities. Collaboration with sales and support teams is essential to achieve customer satisfaction, revenue generation, and long-term account goals aligned with the company’s business strategy. The role also involves analyzing customer needs, identifying solutions, and creating tailored customer solution plans.Role Details:

  • Type: Hybrid role with regular nationwide travel in Denmark.
  • Team: Part of a global team of 13 Account Managers & Sales Specialists.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Relationship Development: Build trust and strong relationships with customers and internal teams, adding value in every interaction by focusing on ‘how’ you sell.
  • Targets: Meet or exceed sales and margin targets, and increase awareness and sales of the VWR Private Label range.
  • Strategy Implementation: Demonstrate strategic agility, tailoring solutions to meet individual customer needs and implementing agreed strategies across defined accounts.
  • Business Development: Drive new and existing opportunities by managing the territory to maximize customer visits and identifying trends and opportunities that generate sales.
  • Planning/Forecasting: Plan, forecast, and achieve objectives and KPIs using pre-call planning for increased effectiveness.
  • Utilize VWR Resources: Leverage internal and external contacts and use the VWR CRM database to manage customer information and aid sales.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Life Science or a related field preferred but not essential.
  • Experience: Extensive experience in nurturing large accounts, managing vendors and distributors, technical expertise, and project management.
  • Skills:
  • Ability to develop mutually beneficial relationships and drive strategic conversations with customers.
  • Excellent listening and organizational skills, with the ability to engage customers and build trust.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills to manage various buyer types and personalities.
  • Strong organizational skills to drive projects forward.
  • Ability to synthesize and integrate sales data to support management decisions.
  • Capability to work independently and manage time and territory effectively.
  • Strong negotiation skills for large account pricing strategies and contracts.
  • Ability to handle difficult situations effectively.
