Junior Software Engineer in Sint-Denijs-Westrem, Belgium

Esko Cloud is Esko’s platform for designing Cloud applications for packaging design and pre-production management. It is a cloud-native architecture which scales to the needs of the customers, both downwards (get started very easily and with low cost) and upwards (very large integrated systems).

We are reinforcing the team in Gent, Belgium with young developers who have a heart for cloud applications.

You will design back-end cloud services and infrastructure. This includes creating the design and writing the code for multiple micro-services, which are part of a micro-service architecture where services call each other over REST APIs. Optionally you can also design the user interface.

Services are deployed as Docker containers in one of the larger cloud platforms (e.g. Amazon Web Services). You will also design monitoring tools which continuously test the health of the clusters, collect usage statistics, this way giving input to improve the existing services.

You can grow in many other functions in Esko, including interactive application development, project and product management.

Required skills:

• Excellent knowledge of Java (tooling & server development practices)

• Web Development with REST APIs

• Spoken and written communication in English

Appreciated skills:

• Scala

• Cloud Security, cryptography

• Search engines (Lucene, Solr, ElasticSearch)

• AWS and Azure
