The successful candidate will join the Thermal Storage department of the research centre.The selected candidate is expected to:– Exhibit a research profile that can effectively collaborate with the other research teams.
– Have expertise in design engineering focused on 3D CAD modeling and simulations.
– Have ability to collect research data through measurements of key parameters (such as temperature/pressure/flow rate) and to perform data analysis.
– Perform installation and commissioning of the prototypes.
Have ability to understand electrical / piping drawings. Any hands-on experience will be preferred.
– Collaborate with universities, research institutes, and companies at a national and international level.
– Provide support in the supervision and tutoring of Pre-Doc students.

The selected person is required to have:
– Ph.D. in the field of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Maths) or other relevant fields. Candidates having PhD in progress can also submit application but cannot join the job without completing degree.Other professional education:
Valuable training/knowledge in: Mechanical Design, Instrumentation, Control Systems, 3D & 2D CAD Modelling, FEA Simulation, Laboratory Automation.Professional experience:
– Experimental research experience to develop prototypes using novel ideas.
– Designing of instruments assisting research activities. It can be related to mechanics, electrical, computer interfaces, or data acquisition.
– Postdoctoral experience is preferable but not compulsory.Specific skills (analytical, software, calculations, prototyping, etc.) Additional points for the following:
– Knowledge of mechanical manufacturing techniques: welding equipment, lathes, milling machines, casting.
– Experience in the manufacturing of in-house equipment.
– Knowledge of softwares such as Matlab, Auto-Cad, Solidworks, Ansys, EES and TRNSYS or other similar.

Participation and/or collaboration in R&D&I/business projects:
– Previous experience in research projects will be an asset.Languages:
– English is preferable.Cross-cutting competences:
– Ability to supervise and to work as team member.
– Ability to perform tasks with precision, effectiveness, and by safe practices.Willingness to travel and stay abroad:
– This position requires participation in events outside of Extremadura.Publications: scientific articles (in journals indexed in Web of Science and/or Scopus), theses (PhD and/or Master’s), presentations at conferences, reports, technical reports, technical guides, etc:
– Valuable publications.
