What will you be doing?:A day in the lifeYou arrive at work at your client’s office, where you’ll spend most of your time. Greeting your temporary colleagues with a smile and a warm hello, you look at your agenda and see that the analysis you’ve been working on is due today. Putting the finishing touches on it, you take the time to help one of your colleagues with that excel problem. A meeting and a lunch break later, you get an email from the BDO Management Consulting office manager reminding you of the upcoming BDO Management Consulting team event. During your afternoon workshop facilitation where you dazzle the client with your insightful remarks, you make a mental note that you must call one of the partners about the improvement opportunity you just discovered for your client. After driving home at a reasonable hour in your company car, you still have the time to go do some sports, have dinner with the family, and go out for drinks with friends where you discuss your interesting day at work.Public SectorYou will assist government agencies and departments in their efforts to adapt to new regulations and societal needs, covering various areas such as Public Administration, Social Services, and Financial Management.As a consultant, you evaluate administrative procedures, identify potential enhancements, and propose solutions that align with the agency’s strategic objectives. Working alongside experts from the public sector, you conduct workshops to collect both operational and functional requirements, perform detailed impact analyses, and establish critical assumptions and dependencies, which you compile into a comprehensive summary.Once there is agreement on the proposed measures, you proactively drive the implementation by coordinating activities across different teams, closely collaborating with the respective project or program manager.The scope of your projects will vary depending on the agency’s needs and your expertise, which may include areas like Public Health, Education, Infrastructure, or Environmental Policy.If this is your first experience in the public sector and you’re keen to learn more about it, rest assured, there are numerous opportunities to support operations and engage in change management activities, helping you to develop your skills in this vital field. What do you bring to the table?:
- You have a master’s degree.
- You have excellent knowledge in Dutch and you have very good English language skills.
- You’re proactive and able to mobilize people around you.

- You can explain an improvement approach to your client in a profound, though accessible and manageable way.

- You are able to anticipate when it comes to identifying your clients’ (future) challenges.
