We work with clients in several ways, including both on an advisory and fiduciary management basis.Junior Investment Research SpecialistWe are recruiting a Junior Investment Research Specialist to join our team in London.In this role you’ll be working with the European Hedge Fund team, conducting research on wide range of investment strategies based in Europe. The Global Research team has responsibility for manager research and works closely with Mercer’s client and investment teams located around the world.This is a hybrid working role, with a minimum of 3 days per week spent in the London (Tower Place West) office.What can you expect?

• Help to research a broad range of hedge fund investment strategies, with a focus on those based in Europe. This will include coverage of a broad range of strategies investing across asset classes and using different styles.

• Prepare regular written reports on investment managers and their strategies including:

• High level reviews of investment strategies
• More detailed qualitative and quantitative analysis of a manager’s investment approach, edge and success
• Performance reviews and updates
• News updates on changes in the business

• Work with the broader research and investment teams in supporting Mercer clients:

• Access existing and new opportunities for investment
• Understand the different options within liquid alternatives
• Providing research and reporting across Mercer’s existing range of investment products
• Helping support the sales and marketing effort more broadly at Mercer

• Contributing with the team more broadly on development of investment topics and themes.

What you need to have:

• Minimum of 2:1 Higher Education/ equivalent business experience or qualification
• A high level of English language (written, reading and oral) is key.
• Confident working with numbers/mathematical ability
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
• Ability to present well in meetings and communicate as part of a team.
• Good organization skills and ability to manage deadlines.
• Proactive and able to work independently.
• Broader commercial interest and awareness
