For our Secure Connected Edge Business Line in Southern France, we are looking for a Junior Embedded Software Engineer to join our Multimedia IoT team. As an industry leader in embedded processing, NXP offers the broadest portfolio of ARM-based embedded solutions. Its scalable product lines span from high-performing, many-core application processors to ultra-low-power microcontrollers.

Your responsibilities

Part of our R&D team, you participate in the development of software elements relevant to Multimedia Control Services (audio, video, graphics…) in our BSP (Board Support Package) for RTOS (Real Time Operating System), and relying on multimedia processing functions of NXP processors. You maintain and support relevant software components, and participate at their integration in the upstream open source community code base.

Our projects allow you to act at any layer of the software stacks, from low level drivers up to applications. You optimize software performance for the best efficiency on NXP platforms, and you participate in the delivery of qualified software according development processes. With good English communication skills and willing to work in an international environment you interact with cross functional teams from other countries.

Your profile

• Newly or recently graduated Engineer (Bac + 5) in Electronic & Computer Science, it’s your first job application or with a maximum of 3 years experience in embedded software developments.
• Good understanding of software design, development and debugging in embedded system environments. Experience with embedded Real-time Operating System (Zephyr or others).
• Good knowledge of programming in C language.
• Some knowledge of ARM cores architectures is a plus.
• Some notions in following domains is a plus: audio/video processing, graphic processing, multimedia streaming.
• Analytical and problem-solving behavior.
• Good communication skills and a collaborative cross-cultural mind-set.
• Fast learner, creative and open for new ideas.
• Comfortable with English language both oral and written.
