Business Development Manager

As a Business Development Manager, your key objective will be to drive sustainable financial growth by increasing sales and fostering valuable relationships with customers. You’ll work closely with clients, understanding their unique business challenges, and delivering solutions that generate meaningful impact. You will be responsible for implementing sales strategies, achieving sales targets, and adapting plans as necessary to meet evolving customer needs.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and execute business plans that align with both company and customer objectives to create mutual value.
* Establish and maintain strong working relationships, ensuring key stakeholders are informed and involved in decision-making.
* Prioritize high-impact opportunities to deliver maximum value for customers.
* Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, addressing their needs, overcoming objections, and building advocacy.
* Track performance against sales targets and KPIs, ensuring all reporting and administrative tasks are completed promptly.
* Lead the execution of sales strategies within your territory, ensuring continuous sales and category growth.
* Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of company products, services, and strategies, and communicate effectively with customers to meet their needs.
* Collaborate with the Professional Services team to enhance the clinical knowledge of retail staff and drive category growth.
* Lead consultative selling efforts to develop long-term partnerships with customers.
* Work closely with Customer Service to maintain high service levels for accounts.
* Introduce new products and represent the company at industry events such as seminars, exhibitions, and meetings.
Skills & Qualifications:
* Strong entrepreneurial spirit and a commercial mindset with a passion for customer success.
* Proven track record of outstanding sales performance within a designated territory.
* Ability to build meaningful relationships with clients and demonstrate empathy, great questioning, and listening skills.
* Highly proactive, self-motivated, and able to work autonomously in managing a high-potential sales area.
* Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with the ability to adapt to various audience sizes and formats, including virtual engagement.
* Familiarity with CRM systems, such as Salesforce, and a strong understanding of MS Office.
* Fluency in Dutch (written and oral) and good command of English.
* Knowledge of Showpad is a plus.
Work Environment:
* Extensive travel within the designated territory and occasional international travel.
Experience:
* 2-6 years of professional sales experience, ideally within the medical devices, FMCG, or retail sectors.
* Experience in the vision care industry or similar B2B2C environments is advantageous.
* Demonstrated ability to deliver sales results through customer business planning, consultative selling, and category leadership.
