As a Junior Brand Designer, you’ll be an important part of the brand design team, supporting the creation of thoughtful, high-quality work across brand, marketing and social. You’ll learn by doing, building your craft through real projects while working closely with more experienced designers.
This role is about curiosity, growth and strong foundations. You’ll contribute to the work with care and energy, develop your creative voice over time, and gain confidence working across digital, print and motion.
Key Responsibilities
Creative Execution and Design Craft:
- Support the delivery of high-quality design work across a range of formats and channels
- Work from briefs and guidance to produce clear, well-crafted design outputs
- Develop layouts, assets and visuals with attention to detail and consistency
- Learn how to take work from initial idea through to final delivery
- Apply feedback thoughtfully to improve your work and build confidence
Collaboration and Team Contribution:
- Work closely with senior and mid-weight designers on specific tasks and projects
- Collaborate with writers, marketers and other partners as part of the wider team
- Contribute to creative reviews by sharing references, ideas and questions
- Be open, communicative and supportive in how you work with others
Brand Application and Visual Consistency:
- Apply Starling’s visual identity accurately and consistently across touchpoints
- Learn how our brand system works and how to use it effectively
- Support high standards in layout, typography, imagery and colour
- Help ensure work aligns with our brand principles and goals
Creative Thinking and Development:
- Research trends, references and inspiration to feed into projects
- Bring fresh perspectives, enthusiasm and curiosity into the studio
- Actively seek feedback and use it to grow your skills
Requirements
- 0–2 years of design experience, or a strong portfolio from education or early roles
- A portfolio that shows creativity and attention to detail
- An understanding of basic design principles across brand and visual design
- Familiarity with tools like Figma and Adobe Creative Suite
- A willingness to learn, ask questions and take on feedback
- A collaborative, positive mindset and pride in your work
