Junior Process Technologist – Self-Healing Polymers

A fast-growing deep-tech startup in Brussels is looking for a Junior Process Technologist (1-3 years experience) to support the development and industrial scale-up of next-generation self-healing polymer systems for puncture-proof car and bike tires.

This is a hands-on R&D and process development role where chemistry meets industrial reality. You will work at the intersection of material formulation, processing technology, and scale-up engineering, helping translate lab innovations into reproducible, manufacturable solutions.

x2705; Support processing and optimization of polymer-based coatings, films, and adhesives
x2705; Work with roll-to-roll processes, coating techniques, and lab-scale extrusion
x2705; Help translate lab formulations into scalable and repeatable production processes
x2705; Run structured experiments, testing, and performance evaluations
x2705; Contribute to process parameters, QC methods, and reproducibility improvements
x2705; Work closely with material scientists, engineers, and application teams
x2705; Support data collection and documentation for R&D and scale-up decisions

x2714; Degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Materials Science or Chemical Engineering
x2714; 1-3 years of relevant industry experience
x2714; Exposure to coatings, films, inks, adhesives, or polymer processing
x2714; Experience with extrusion, roll-to-roll, or coating processes is a strong plus
x2714; Hands-on mindset with strong attention to detail and experimental rigor
x2714; Comfortable working in a fast-paced, startup R&D environment
x2714; English required (Dutch/French is a plus)
