The department in Denmark consists of two teams with different areas of responsibility – Projects and Technical Support.The Projects, Competences and Sensory team, you are joining, plays a pivotal role in both short and long-term new product and competence development projects. The aim is to develop new solutions of microbial cultures and enzymes for our customers for a wide range of fresh dairy products. We are using state-of-the-art production pilot plant and laboratory technologies, methodologies and modern equipment to deliver on our ambition.Your new team is multicultural and values good collaboration, open communication and high quality. We work in a flexible way across many different projects to accommodate our customers’ needs.In this role you’ll make an impact by:
- Applying and deepening our understanding of microbial cultures and dairy enzymes in various neutral and fermented milk applications, in close cooperation with internal and external dairy experts, R&D, Sales, Commercial Development.
- Organizing trials, managing shelf-life studies and participating in industrial validations at customer sites will be key in achieving successful outcomes.
- Managing projects within New Product & Dairy Competence Development, covering both product and process aspects. Your work will span from laboratory to full-scale production, where you will design and execute experiments to optimize product characteristics (texture, flavor) and process conditions.
- Ensuring and maintaining a high and relevant level of application knowledge and expertise and work to develop strong competencies in process and production areas, according to market trends.
- Inspiring customers by demonstrating that the combined use of Novonesis products, dairy ingredients and the right process technology can result in innovative concept products.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams will be essential for sharing knowledge, best practices and insights on neutral and fermented milk to ensure seamless integration of findings into product development processes.
Traveling to customers or external Novonesis sites up to 20% of the time, will also be part of the role.To succeed you must hold:
- MSc or PhD degree in Food Science, Dairy Technology, Process Engineering, Biotechnology or a related field.
- A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in the Fresh Dairy industry and related applications. Knowledge on production processes and equipment is a plus.
- Curiosity, positive and growth mindset to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong technical skills and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and customer satisfaction.
- Interest in and willingness to do practical work in our dairy pilot plant.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive, collaborative and customer-oriented mindset.
- Demonstrate flexibility and resilience in adapting to changing business needs and priorities.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills on all levels, both verbal and written, in English.
Finally, the successful candidate must have overall good understanding of applicability of biosolutions in customer-like settings and understand how technology and processes contribute to the final product characteristics such as flavor and texture.
