Summary See below for important information regarding this job. Responsibilities Provide network administration/management for the organization’s wired and wireless LAN (Local Area Network) . Troubleshoot, resolve and respond to customer incidents via the DLA enterprise helpdesk system Analyzes network requirements, configures, optimizes, and maintains network architecture and infrastructure. Maintain and update DHCP, DNS and IPAM within the DLA enterprise tools Serves as technical expert within the DLA J64 LAN Management branch. Plans organization’s NTS LAN Management’s network programs. Provide technical guidance and expertise in the implementation of the DLA LAN environment to assure project objectives are met. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications To qualify for an IT Specialist (Network) your resume and supporting documentation must support: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-12 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Creditable specialized experience includes: Provide direct technical expertise for the network systems by providing technical support in the evaluation, testing, selection, maintenance and services contained on the organizational network. Analyzes network requirements, configures, optimizes, and maintains network architecture and infrastructure Develop new network systems, modify major existing systems, and control systems operations necessary to support the disposal mission. Provide program oversight. Implements and maintains latest software, baseline configurations and best practice configurations on DLA LAN equipment Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. In the event of a crisis situation, the incumbent may be required to deploy via temporary reassignment or be required to stay in place to support contingency operations. This position cannot be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization without seriously impairing the capability of the organization to function effectively; therefore, the position requires the incumbent to be screened from military recall.
