DivisionAs an IT Newbie, you will join the Group Business Solutions (GBS) division and undergo an intensive training lasting 3 months while being closely guided by your mentor and supported by a buddy who already has a few years of experience in a similar function.The GBS division ensures the competitiveness of Euroclear by delivering reliable and sustainable IT solutions for the financial securities markets. Our technical teams deliver new IT solutions and improve existing applications for both our internal and external clients. We deploy changes into the production environment in a controlled and structured way that doesn’t compromise production stability, and we ensure applicative production support.We are looking for Junior Mainframe Application Analysts to strengthen our growing teams. We will equip you with a niche skillset that will allow you to become responsible for the development and support of applications running on a time-critical infrastructure.Scarcely taught at universities, Mainframe technology is the beating heart at the center of business operations for many of the world’s largest enterprises due to its proven speed and resiliency. Handling heavy workloads and critical applications that require high reliability and security, mainframes are designed to run multiple concurrent users and transactions simultaneously and can support large amounts of data storage and processing. All skills learned on Mainframe are also portable on other technologies.The pillars underlying the critical importance of mainframes for financial institutions and banks are the following:

  • High reliability and availability: Mainframes are designed to run continuously for years with minimal downtime, ensuring that financial transactions are processed promptly and securely.
  • Security: Mainframes have robust security features that help protect sensitive financial information from cyber threats and unauthorized access.
  • Scalability: Mainframes can handle heavy workloads, including large amounts of data processing and storage, making them ideal for financial transactions that require large computing resources.

Typically, Application Analysts join our company in the role of Software Developer. In this role, they get intensive training and support, allowing them to build up their technical, functional and business expertise required for the Application Analyst role. After a positive evaluation, they are then evolving into the role of Junior Application AnalystAs a Software Developer, your main tasks are:

  • to code, test and document the most important programs for financial markets and ensure their successful launch
  • Provide support to our testing and operational teams in regards to the code under your responsibility
  • Ensure production stability being part of the defect management and hotline
  • Start to produce design documentation with coaching of a senior designer

As an Application Analyst, your main tasks are:

  • Understand specific client needs or technical requirements. Liaise with the internal clients to better understand existing or new business processes and needs
  • Based on these needs, perform and document design analysis
  • Supervise and assess the work of programmers implementing and testing design changes
  • As you grow in maturity, you will take ownership of the evolution of one or more Applications in your domain

Required skillsYou have:

  • a Mathematics, Engineering, IT or Science-related degree (Bachelor, Master, PhD)
  • strong analytical skills
  • strong curiosity about IT and new technologies
  • interest in Finance, capital markets
  • ability to quickly adapt to an international and diverse company
  • self-learning ability (you’re ready to dive into new technologies and extend your own expertise)
