IT Infrastructure Engineer – Azure – Birmingham – Training provided – Some remote working

IT Infrastructure Engineer with excellent experience in on-prem IT infrastructure, Microsoft Sever 2019 / 2022 & Microsoft 365 solution roadmaps are required by a leading firm based in Birmingham. If you have any Cloud technology (Azure) experience this would be a bonus.

They have recently filled several senior-level Infrastructure roles so they really are only looking at junior / mid level options, a person who wants to make a step up to an Infrastructure Engineer role. My client needs someone who is comfortable working in a primarily on-prem environment whilst supporting their long-term goal to migrate to a cloud-based environment. They have experienced a great deal of change/transformation within IT currently so it’s an exciting time to join the team and be part of a business that is heavily investing in tech.

You will be implementing new IT technology solutions across the firm, with a big emphasis on Microsoft Solutions, Virtualization, Azure Cloud and Microsoft 365. They are currently they are doing a lot of Microsoft 365 / MS Server and virtualisation development, change and implementation across an Azure cloud platform.

Skills and experience needed:

* Excellent On-Prem IT Infrastructure knowledge around Microsoft solutions such as MS Server, Exchange, Virtulaisation etc.
* Some Azure knowledge, including Azure AD and cloud
* Strong Microsoft 365 experience, with Exchange, Teams, Intune
* Excellent Virtualisation skills in both VMware and Citrix
* Some Networking experience around Firewalls, VPN, DNS, DHCP etc
* Any experience around application, storage and Data would be a bonus

As the IT Infrastructure Engineer, a major part of the role will be to deploy, maintain, and support their current IT infrastructure including server, storage, network, data and applications. It is a team of 7+ people for the IT Infrastructure team and they want to expand that team in those areas of technology of cloud, virtualisation, networks and MS Server / 365 even further.

There will be a mix of project management and project implementation. You will take technical ownership, including the roadmap of future IT change projects, while learning from senior members of the team.,
