Job description
For one of our clients at the European Parliament, we are hiring an IT/AV Manager to plan, prepare and install 16 projects in capital by the end of 2025, whilst also providing continuous technical support to the expanding network of decentralised facilities. The new IT/AV Manager is intended to built up support capacities to assist the team their day-to-day opration (using the ticketing system recently established) and to contribute to upgrade interventions.Responsibilities:
- Operational Support: Deploy, configure, maintain and monitor all active network equipment in order to ensure smooth network operation.
- Support to several project teams and coordination with projects’ stakeholders and with Parliament’s contractors in different phases of a project particularly during the IT/AV maintenance and support phase.
- Installation and configuration of PC, Mac and mobile devices hardware; and installation and configuration of software components in the PC, Mac configuration or mobile devices.
- Administration of the local IT environment, directly related to workplace (the PC or mobile devices environment); Participation in defining and documenting configuration of the PC or mobile devices environment; Documenting operational support procedures; Drafting technical content for knowledge database.
- Security administration and monitoring, in adherence to the security rules imposed by the Parliament’s central security service (complemented by local rules where needed). This task includes anti-virus protection.
- Software asset management and Licence management.
- Follow-up of a number of projects in the Member States and support to project teams in the design, implementation and reception of the exhibition spaces (mainly the IT/AV components such as hardware, audio-visual equipment software and network installations of any given exhibition) throughout Europe.
- The IT/AV Manager will be expected to participate in meetings with the users and suppliers.
- It is possible that the IT/AV Manager will provide support in client’s premises.
Experience:
- At least 3 years of professional experience in the relevant field. It is vital that the IT/AV Manager has the necessary experience in the Windows platform and related Audio Visual technologies, in working in an IT support team and in a network administrator role. Previous experience with management of projects in EP and with complex communication infrastructure facilities is a plus.
- Hands on experience in networking, routing and switching. Experience with firewalls, Internet VPN’s remote implementation, troubleshooting and problem resolution is desired.
- Minimum good knowledge of EN & FR. Knowledge of a third language will be a plus.
- Great at organising, prioritising and multitasking, and well-developed writing and presentation skills.
- Ability to work in a team and capable of working in an international/multicultural environment.
