Job Description:This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is highly motivated to work in a dynamic team and to contribute to our Investment Banking business.The J.P. Morgan Benelux M&A and Corporate Finance team is responsible for execution of public and private M&A transactions involving Benelux corporate and financial sponsor clients and for international clients involving businesses based in the Benelux region. We maintain leading relationships with some of the most prominent clients in the Benelux and aid them, through M&A and corporate finance advice, in delivering on their corporate strategy and structure. We are involved in the vast majority of the major M&A transactions that take place in the Benelux and consistently rank as one of the Benelux’s pre-eminent M&A advisory franchises. Often, members of the deal team interact on a daily basis with the client’s senior management.As an Investment Banking Associate within the Benelux M&A and Corporate Finance team, you will play a crucial role in the origination and execution of investment banking mandates across all major product areas.. Under the guidance of senior team leaders, you will manage client transactions from pitch to close, prepare detailed valuation analyses, models and presentations, and devise innovative and creative solutions to complex, real-world business challenges.You will have significant opportunities to work with expert professionals at the heart of a leading global investment bank and gain exposure to formal training, hands-on learning opportunities, and continuous mentoring and feedback.Job responsibilities

  • Perform detailed valuation analyses, including DCF, trading comparables, transaction comparables and LBO analyses
  • Draft presentation materials, management presentations, Board materials, Memoranda, and other presentation materials for use in M&A and capital markets transactions or strategic client dialogue
  • Support due diligence, document preparation, negotiation etc. and liaising with relevant counterpart at the client/other advisers (accounting, legal, etc)
  • Work with J.P. Morgan product and sector teams

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Multiple years of relevant full-time Investment Banking or Corporate Finance experience
  • Proven financial modelling / valuation skills / analytical skills, with high level of attention to detail
  • Knowledge about the transaction cycle of relevant investment banking products
  • Demonstrate commitment to a strong teamwork environment
  • Being adaptable, flexible and resilient; ability to work self-directed and independently and to multitask on numerous assignments
  • Proficiency in MS office applications and relevant knowledge of customary investment banking databases (FactSet, Bloomberg, etc.)

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • CFA Level III certification (or similar)
  • Outstanding academic qualification
  • In-depth understanding of investment banking products
  • Experience in dealing with clients and other transactional advisers
