What surprised me most was the scale of Global Procurement, and the impact my projects could have on Heineken as a whole.” A quote from our current intern in the team.The internshipYou will be part of the Glass team, one of the most strategic categories for Heineken Global Procurement. The category is executing several projects which offer a great opportunity for learning and contributing to Heineken. If desired some of these projects can be used to write your thesis on:

  • Identify cost savings and carbon reduction opportunities thru global specifications benchmarks.
  • Develop and implement a Should Cost Model for glass.
  • Further implement allocation optimization models globally and integrate CO2 impact.
  • Develop business case for introduction of returnable bottles vs. one-way, including sustainability impact.

Of course, always with the guidance that is right for you.The departmentThis position is at Heineken Global Procurement, the procurement company of Heineken, responsible for global sourcing of strategic materials like malt, bottles, cans, hops, etc. You will be part of the Glass team, which is acting globally and is one of the fastest growing categories in terms of volume and spend. The Glass team consists of 9 people with very diverse backgrounds / 8 nationalities and is based at Schiphol – Amsterdam.The terms of employment

  • Your starting date is 1 September 2024.
  • The internship is fulltime (in consultation also 4 days a week possible).
  • The duration of the internship is 5 or 6 months (in consultation with your internship supervisor).
  • It is a practice-oriented internship.
  • You will be based in Schiphol – Amsterdam.
  • Hybrid location, partially working from home.
  • You will receive an internship fee of €500 gross pm based on 40 hours per week.
  • You will enjoy 2 vacation days per month (based on fulltime).
  • If you do not have a student OV pass, your commuting expenses will be fully reimbursed.

The start of your internshipTogether with a diverse group of interns from different departments you will start your internship at HEINEKEN. Together you will be introduced to the organization.   • English language.
  • Good data gathering and analytical skills (knowledge of excel is a must!).
  • A strong interest to learn about the glass category.
  • Curiosity to drive change and work in a multicultural environment.

Conditions of HEINEKEN * You are enrolled at an educational institution.

  • In the case of non-EU nationality, you must be registered as an intern with a Dutch educational institution, from which we receive proof of enrollment for the current academic year from you.
  • In case of EU nationality, you may also be registered as an intern at educational institutions outside the EU.
  • Living in the Netherlands during internship (HEINEKEN does not facilitate housing).
