L’Albero della Vita ETS (FADV) is an NGO promoting human rights across the world, operating in child protection, education, migration, development, emergency, providing support to vulnerable children and communities.

We are looking for a motivated International HR Operations Specialist based in Milan, to join our HR team.

The role requires frequent business trips to Africa, South America, India and Ukraine.

Location: Head Office (Milano, Via Vittor Pisani 13)

Employment Type: Full-time, hybrid work both office and remotely (CCNL Commercio).

Job summary

The International HR Operations Specialist will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating all HR operations related to the Foundation’s international activities. This role involves managing HR processes, supporting global mobility, and ensuring compliance with international labor laws in different countries. The position requires someone with strong organizational skills, the ability to handle international travel, and experience in managing HR functions in a non-profit context, specifically within an NGO.

Key Responsibilities

  • HR Operations Management: oversee all HR operations for international offices, ensuring consistency with the organization’s policies and compliance with local labour laws in different countries.
  • Global Mobility & Travel: manage all aspects of international assignments, including travel logistics, expatriate support, and visa/work permit management. Ensure smooth relocation processes for employees, including accommodation and integration support.
  • Recruitment & Talent Acquisition: assist with the recruitment process for international roles, working closely with local HR teams to source and onboard talent from various regions.
  • Employee Relations & Compliance: provide advice and guidance on international employee relations issues, including performance management, conflict resolution, and local legal requirements.
  • Training & Development: Coordinate HR training programs for international staff.
  • Compensation & Benefits: ensure equity and alignment with local standards in terms of salary and the organization’s overall compensation strategy.
  • Reporting & Analytics: Monitor HR metrics for international operations and provide regular reports on employee performance, engagement, and other HR-related data.
  • Cross-Cultural Collaboration: Facilitate communication and cooperation between the international offices and the HQ, ensuring alignment with the organization’s global goals and values.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in HR operations, with a focus on international HR management or global mobility, preferably in the NGO sector.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse, cross-cultural teams.
  • Proficiency in English (written and spoken); knowledge of other languages is a plus.
  • Flexibility to travel internationally and work in different time zones.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
