FIVS International Affairs Internship

Are you a dynamic student looking for experience in a global role and eager to make a real impact?  FIVS is offering an internship opportunity to support our important work for the global alcohol sector.

ABOUT FIVS: FIVS is a global trade federation serving the alcohol sectors with a focus on wine. Our mission? To enhance the global operating environment for the alcohol beverage industry by providing leadership and advocating for the sector on issues of common interest with international institutions (e.g.: World Trade Organisation, World Health Organisation, Organisation Internationale de la Vigne et du Vin, OECD, OIML, Codex Alimentarius, etc.) via our role as a nongovernmental observer.

LOCATION & TIMING: You can work from our attractive Regus Spaces co-working office near l’Opera in central Paris or remotely, though attendance at meetings in Paris will be necessary from time to time.

Start date as soon as possible, for up to 6 months.

CONTRACT AND PERKS: French internship agreement necessary; 650€/month plus restaurant vouchers, Can be full or part time depending on availability. 

A laptop for the duration of the contract.

You will gain insights into international affairs, advocacy and how trade bodies work and operate; practical experience in supporting an organisation that shapes global policies all over the world; and learn about the wine sector through our diverse global membership.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Project work to drive forward focussed FIVS’ activities in support of our strategy.
  • Communications: keep our website up to date, and suggest improvements and developments, draft FIVS Alerts on a variety of topics (economic, environmental and social sustainability), assist in creating corporate documents (annual reports, brochures, etc.).
  • Policy research and analysis: monitor and report on policy issues related to the alcohol beverage industry.
  • Translation: translate website pages (mostly English to French) and other corporate documents.
  • Events Management: assist in delivering the FIVS in-person meetings (presentations, logistics, invoices, etc.). The next meeting and our General Assembly will take place in Paris in early October.
  • Administrative matters: assist in the running of our day-to-day operations; organise Working Group meetings, draft meeting minutes, and report on issues of interest.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Passion for wine and spirits is a must and knowledge of the sector a bonus!
  • Curiosity and eagerness to get involved in and explore complex policy issues.
  • Adaptability: thrive in a fast-paced multicultural environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree with a major in Public Affairs, International Relations, Communications, Business Administration or a similar relevant field.
  • Communications skills – fluent in English and French – verbal and written proficiency is required.
  • Excellent IT skills are an asset (Wordpress, Adobe InDesign, etc.).
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail, ability to be part of a small team as well as to work independently, creatively and reliably. A paid internship at 650€/month plus restaurant vouchers,
