Internship Opportunity in the Directorate of Operations.Location ParisOur team and missionThis position is based at the ESA HQ – Paris, FranceWithin the Strategy and Transformation Office, you will be part of the team in charge of the coordination of the Space Safety Programme and of the management of the Protect Accelerator.Candidates interested are encouraged to visit the ESA website:Field(s) of activity for the internshipDuring this 6-month internship, you will support the team in charge of Space Safety programme coordination and of the management of the Protect Accelerator, especially on activities related to Zero Debris and to the development of space weather services in Europe.You can choose between the following topics:1) Topic 1: Supporting Space Safety programme coordinationYou will support the coordination of the Space Safety programme through the preparation of reports, briefs, background material and presentations for the coordinators’ interactions with the rest of the Agency, ESA Member States and other partners (e.g. foreign agencies, industry, EU).2) Topic 2: Supporting the activities of the Protect AcceleratorYou will support the activities of the Protect Accelerator, which was established to connect space and non-space actors beyond ESA to protect European assets from space hazards, including debris and space weather interferences, in synergy with relevant national, EU or other European initiatives. Implemented by the ESA Directorate of Operations, it leverages the capabilities and solutions developed by the Space Safety Programme to foster collaborative capacity building activities with all relevant actors of the European and global space sectors for the achievement of a Zero Debris future by 2030 and to ensure the availability of space weather services in Europe.Behavioural competenciesResult Orientation

Forward ThinkingFor more information, please refer toEducationYou must be a university student, preferably in your final or second-to-last year of a university course at Master’s level and you need to remain enrolled at your University for the entire duration of the internship.Additional requirementsThe working languages of the Agency are English and French. A good knowledge of one of these is required.
