General context of the project
INTERSOS is a humanitarian organization founded in 1992, working on the frontlines of crisis situations. In its countries of operation, INTERSOS intervenes to assist the most vulnerable populations affected by conflicts, extreme exclusion, and natural and manmade disasters in challenging and hard-to-reach areas, where the humanitarian needs continue to be the greatest and where the humanitarian presence is often weak. In such contexts, INTERSOS focuses on providing forcibly displaced populations and host communities with life-saving humanitarian assistance, in the areas of Protection, Health & Nutrition, as well as WASH and FSL.
INTERSOS operations are guided by its Charter of Values and the humanitarian principles of humanity, neutrality, impartiality, and independence. Every intervention is characterized by the centrality of the human being, the principle from which INTERSOS values descend. INTERSOS HR Department consists of the Recruitment Unit, the HR Management Unit, the Admin Unit, the Deployment Unit, and the Personnel Development Unit.
General purpose of the position
At the end of the 6 months time the Intern will develop his/hers analyses and synthesis skills, training also critical and logical thinking when supporting in the development of policies/strategy and in following closely the work of the HR Director.
Main responsibilities and tasks
The intern will support the HR Director on:
- revision and harmonization of HR policies (staff benefits policy, leave policy, and travel policy)
- HR Annual Action Plan 2024
- taking minutes during internal and external HR meetings
- consolidation of quarterly HR reports (data collection, data checks, harmonization of the units’ documents)
- Support on the deployment (in coordination with the deployment officer)
Required profile and experience
Education
- Degree in Social Sciences, Education, Economics, Political Science, Law or similar.
Professional Experience
- No previous experience is required.
Professional Requirements
- Confident in using IT tools (Drive, Office package etc).
Languages
- English proficiency.
- Italian and French as an asset.

- Able to handle different types of tasks with a strong prioritization capacity
