Position Summary
With an investment team of ~40 professionals across 5 offices in France, the UK, Italy, Spain and Germany, Carlyle Europe Partners (CEP) focuses on private equity investments in European opportunities across a wide range of sectors and industries where there is significant potential for business transformation. For its latest fund, CEP raised €6.4bn (CEP V, 2019).
Responsibilities
- Sourcing: assist in the identification and evaluation of potential investment opportunities
- Financial analysis: conduct thorough financial analysis to assess viability of investment prospects, including modeling and valuation exercises
- Market research: assist in comprehensive market research to understand industry dynamics and competitive landscapes within the European market
- Due Diligence support: support due diligence process by gathering and analyzing relevant data, participating in meetings, and preparing reports to be shared internally (e.g. investment notes, formal investment memorandums) or externally (e.g. Carlyle introduction materials)
- Portfolio management: participate to the ongoing management of existing portfolio companies, including assist in preparation of quarterly reports
- Team collaboration: collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful execution of investment strategies
Qualifications
- Previous experience (min. 6 months) in investment banking, consulting or private equity
- Native French speaker; fluent in English
- Strong analytical and financial modelling skills
- Solid understanding of private equity market
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Proactive and detail-oriented approach to work
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Powerpoint
