Role

The Economic Policy unit is looking for a student with a background in economics/political science and an interest in policy-oriented research. As a member of the team, the selected candidate will mainly conduct research and assist in organising events on issues related to EU economic policy, with a focus on the EU budget and the Recovery and Resilience Facility.

Main tasks

  • Conduct desk research on performance budgeting under the Cohesion Policy and the Recovery and Resilience Facility, with a focus on the indicators and the methodologies used to monitor and evaluate performance.
  • Participate in interviews with relevant experts, stakeholders and policymakers (e.g. European Commission, European Parliament, Member State representatives, social partners).
  • Support in organising events (e.g. roundtables and workshops) linked to the unit’s research activities.
  • Support with a variety of (quantitative and qualitative) data collection and analysis tools.

Your background and profile

  • Student about to complete a Master’s degree in economics, political science, or a related discipline.
  • Knowledge of and interest in EU policies, the EU budget, and EU instruments.
  •  Knowledge of quantitative data collection and analysis tools is an asset.
  • Excellent knowledge of English, both orally and in writing.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Willingness to work in a research team and open to giving and receiving feedback.
  • Absolute respect for diversity and an inclusion-oriented mindset.
