Detect fraudulent activities in user administration:

Evaluate and prototype an unsupervised machine learning solution to detect fraudulent activities in Amadeus user management system.

The Amadeus Customer Identity & Access Management department is providing an open identity and access management for Amadeus customers based on security standards, inter-operating with different identity providers facilitating partners integration. You will join a talented international team of data scientists, business analysts and quality engineers building fraud detection solutions following an Agile SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) methodology.

To enforce security, we would like to explore more in details user administration events to enlarge the fraud detection scope.

This internship aims at evaluating and prototyping the best solutions for detecting fraudulent activities in Amadeus user management system. The main focus should be set on unsupervised machine learning solutions to detect fraudulent activities in Amadeus user management logs.

Several steps will be necessary:

1. Identify the most impacting fraudulent patterns in collaboration with the team’s analysts in sensitive operations like privileges augmentation, admin user creation, password and MFA updates…

2. Identify relevant models and features to detect anomalies.

3. Build a scalable prototype.

4. Document the outcomes.

You will be able to take advantage of our cloud based technical stack composed of Microsoft Azure ML studio, Microsoft Azure Synapse, Databricks and more.

Optional extension: Study the possible correlations with the authentication activity logs to improve the model detection.
