Internship agronomic position, DENMARK
“How farm equipment are impacting yield and sustainability goals on farm level?”
AGCOs agronomy team are constantly doing in field studies with current and future farm equipment. Planning, execution and evaluation are part of the process. Experience the whole circle of theoretical studies come to live. Get your hands dirty in one week and prepare to present the result at the office the other week. Get a deeper inside in scientific based, hands on agronomic research. To give a short example:
First a protocol is planned how to conduct a field trial in Corn, then this protocol is applied in the field as planned, in-season data such as stand count or root development are collected, the trials gets harvested and last the data is processed and evaluated to present it to a larger group.
Get an inside to modern farm technologies such as precision farming and farm management information systems.
Position duration:
6 months (flexible start and end dates) Duration are flexible depending on study plans.
Salary:
Follows Danish standards for interns.
Position Location:
Denmark, Randers. Field activities throughout Europe so some travel activity can be expected.
Position Duties:
-Assist AGCO agronomists with regional field studies, including; farm equipment preparation & operation, equipment transport & field operations such as planting and tillage.
-Execute foliar tissue samples, root ratings, stand counts and other metadata collection as necessary.
-Responsible for accurate mixing and application of fertilizer per blend sheet specifications.
-Responsible for timely execution of assigned trial plot protocols.
-Documentation and evaluation of recorded Data.
-Work safely following safety rules, regulations, and personal protective equipment requirements.
Position Competencies and Qualifications:
-Pursuing a master or bachelor’s degree, preferably in an agricultural related major or program but not required.
-General knowledge of crop growth and development. Satisfactory level of technical knowledge in agronomy, ag technology, and crop sciences preferred.
-Basic math skills, attentive to detail and able to work without direct supervision.
-Ability to work extended hours during peak busy seasons.
-Language (Spoken/Read/Write): English and German
-Driver license are required (Car mandatory, tractor necessary)
