Position Statement:
The Analyst Corporate Accounting (RTR) is responsible for preparing the accounting of activity which significantly impacts the corporate financial statements. The post holder will combine accounting, analytical and presentation skills to effectively and efficiently contribute to the monthly close process, as well as the ability to understand complex accounting transactions. Outputs include balance sheet analysis, intercompany loan activity reporting, and general ledger entries.
What will I be doing?
- Prepare reports that provide financial advice and guidance to senior leadership, cost center owners, RSP’s and business units based on planning and data analysis.
- Coordinate with third-party service providers (outsourcing provider, auditors, valuation specialists, financial printer, software vendors) to ensure all necessary information is compiled to arrive at appropriate accounting conclusions and disclosures.
- Perform activities in compliance with all company policies as outlined in the global accounting policy manual.
- Execute, update and maintain accounting internal control policies and procedures and prepare supporting documentation to internal audit regarding completion of control procedures.
- Ensure SOX compliance.
- Provide materials to external and internal auditors and provide accurate responses to audit queries.
- Ensure departmental objectives and workload priorities are followed and achieved throughout the team, providing feedback as necessary.
- Work with the shared service center and provide support where necessary to achieve company objectives.
- Prepare monthly closing, maintenance of ledger accounts and compliance to financial reporting deadlines, including (but not limited to):
- Gross Up Procedures and ensure compliance with SOX controls
- Correct accounting for all RSP’s
- Perform Corporate Canada accounting and finance function
- Prepare Net Profit Calculation and Trends
- Prepare Minimum guarantees and Intangible accounting
- Prepare settlement of all RSP, Intercompany and other billed internal fees
- Prepare the production of Corporate Cost Reports for all Regions
- Prepare monthly financial statements and reports
- Ensure all deadlines are met and support the team to maximise efficiency and effectiveness of processes.
- Prepare variance analysis across balance sheet and P&L, and review findings including month on month, quarter on quarter and year on year P&L and B/S Analytical Review.
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations.
- Ensure new Hilton processes are standardized globally across the HAFS structure
- Ensure new processes are documented and adhere to Segregation of duty and SOX control disciplines, liaising with internal audit where necessary
- Support financial system implementation projects under the guidance of the Senior Analyst.
- Provision of financial data to other departments as required.
- Liaise with Tax on all tax related issues and support resolution of tax queries, including general ledger entries.
- Work with key stakeholders and departments to deliver appropriate levels of support.
- Help to manage cross-functional links to other finance teams, the shared service center and hotels.
- Assist Consolidations and financial reporting teams with queries.
- Review the outputs of the shared service center to ensure financial accuracy and completeness

- BA/BS/bachelor’s degree or equivalent
