Position Overview
CRH is looking for a
Intelligence Digital Products
Product Owner! The role is situated within the
Intelligence Digital Products
team whose objective is to develop a capability to systematically explore and understand future trends that will impact the construction industry and to identify opportunities for CRH to create value therein. The team will leverage internal and external news, information, data, and project work to perform deep dives into areas of interest and create new plausible future scenarios for CRH. The teams’ aspiration is to support fact-based discussions to improve the decision-making process, with a clear focus on understanding threats and potential opportunities for CRH and the construction industry. The
Intelligence Digital Products
team sits within the Strategy function. It is a high performing, fast paced enjoyable environment that places a strong focus on professional development.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
-Define and prioritize the product backlog based on strategic goals, customer feedback, and market research for data and analytics solutions.
-Collaborate with global stakeholders, including the CRH data and analytics community, to gather requirements, understand business needs, and develop future data products, translating them into actionable features and user stories.
-Work with cross-functional teams of data engineers, analysts, and developers to ensure alignment and facilitate the design, development, and delivery of innovative data and analytics products.
-Champion the product vision, strategy, and roadmap, ensuring alignment with business objectives and customer needs.
-Drive the development of data-driven insights and analytics solutions to solve complex business problems.
-Establish and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful product delivery and adoption.
-Monitor market trends, competitor offerings, and emerging technologies to identify opportunities for product innovation and improvement.
-Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure product success and drive continuous improvement, including processes and tools for monitoring data quality and ensuring day-to-day performance and flawless user experience of strategic data products.
Key Functional Competencies and Relevant Experience
You are/have:
-Proven experience as a product owner or product manager, with a focus on data and analytics solutions.
-Self-motivated with a high degree of initiative; comfortable working in a demanding fast- paced environment
-Strategic mindset and strong interest in current and future business trends
-Excellent data, research and analysis skills with ability to analyse and interpret complex datasets, develop strategic data-driven insights, and communicate these insights clearly to stakeholders
-Good financial and analytical skills, with excellent attention to detail and a focus on results
-Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
-Ability to multitask within tight deadlines
-Analytical mindset with a passion for data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement.
-Experience with Agile methodologies and a track record of successful Agile product delivery.
Your Education and Experience
You are/have:
-Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field. A postgraduate qualification or equivalent experience is a plus.
-5+ years of working in data and business intelligence
-Proven experience as a product owner or product manager, with a focus on data and analytics solutions.
-In depth experience of Agile project delivery and methodologies
-Strategic mindset and a deep understanding of business needs, market dynamics, and industry trends in data and analytics.
-Highly competent at translating business requirements into IT-specifications
-Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
-Understanding of reporting tools (PowerBI/Tableau) and Big Data/cloud solutions (Azure/Snowflake) for effective support in product owner role.
-Experience working in a multinational environment is a bonus
-Fluent in English
