THE SCOPE

This position contributes directly to ensuring the integrity and credibility of the FSC system. The Officer supports the delivery of targeted solutions to address FSC supply chain integrity. The employee assists the team by working on incoming supply chain integrity requests and case management with internal and external parties, and carries out other investigative, analytical and administrative tasks.

MAIN ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage incoming internal and external requests to Supply Chain Integrity Team: in particular conduct their initial analysis, propose solutions aligned with the FSC normative framework and relevant best practices, if needed seek support from FSC units, communicate with requesters and follow-up on solution implementation with responsible internal and external parties;
  • Conduct analysis of supply chain integrity related records in the FSC database and follow-up on the results in coordination with the Supply Chain Integrity Team;
  • Assist with and carry out integrity investigations and prepare relevant materials and documentation;
  • Maintain, update and improve Supply Chain Integrity’s databases;
  • Draft, send and monitor the receipt of blockage and blockage lifting letters;
  • Develop and update internal operating procedures;
  • Support the development of different forms of communication materials, including texts, presentations, graphs and Excel tables, related to integrity investigations and the overall work of the Supply Chain Integrity Team;
  • Participate in internal cross-unit project groups as a representative of Supply Chain Integrity Team;
  • Build and maintain effective contacts and good relations with internal and external parties involved in supply chain integrity activities, including Assurance Services International, certification bodies, FSC regional and national offices;
  • Analyse media items and liaise with impacted parties as necessary;
  • Provide administrative assistance and general day-to-day operations support to the Supply Chain Integrity Team;
  • Any other task as assigned by formal supervisor and project work as assigned according to special organizational needs.

YOUR PROFILE

Working Education and Training:

  • University/technical college degree or equivalent training or experience in a field of, for example, political sciences, history, law, management, economics, sustainability, or other relevant specialization.

Working Experience, Style and Skills:

  • At least 2 years of professional experience related to the roles and responsibilities of this position;
  • Proven ability to plan, organize and complete work tasks;
  • Good time management skills;
  • Analytical and structured approach to problems;
  • Solution-oriented attitude to work;
  • Attention to details;
  • Solid research, writing and oral communication skills and ability to explain complex issues in clear and simple terms;
  • Work ethics to maintain good relationships with internal and external parties.

Languages:

  • Fluency in English (spoken and written);
  • Other languages are a plus;
  • Sound verbal and written communication skills and ability to explain complex issues in clear and simple terms.

Computer Skills – good skills in the use of/experience with:

  • Standard software packages (MS Office), in particular experience with analysing data in Excel and solid experience with Power Point are a plus.

  • Experience in working in a multi-cultural, multi-lingual, global team;
  • Commitment to FSC’s mission and values;
  • Demonstrated cultural awareness and sensitivity to the diversity of values, views and approaches to issues relevant to the FSC program by stakeholders around the world.
  • Familiarity with FSC certification, other certification schemes, auditing and compliance practices is a plus.
  • Ability to represent FSC through his/her work with exemplary personal and professional authority and conduct.
