Summary You will serve as an INTEGRATED PREVENTION COORDINATOR (FLEET) in the SAPRO/Office of Culture and Force Resilience of COMMANDER NAVY EUROPE / AFRICA and COMMANDER SIXTH FLEET, Italy. Responsibilities You will serve as the Fleet Integrated Prevention Coordinator. You will oversee establishment and integration of policies and responsibilities to mitigate self-directed harm and prohibited abusive or harmful acts. You will support recommendations to policy, program and process improvement related to outcomes. You will plan, manage, coordinate, implement, and evaluate training, education, and outreach for integrated primary prevention programs. You will advise leadership on data-informed actions, prevention methodologies, assessment, and prevention training. You will ensure compliance with Department of Defense (DoD), Department of the Navy (DON), and Navy policies and local directives. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Planning, managing, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating training, education, and outreach. Identifying existing or potential risk factors that can lead to problematic/destructive behaviors and recommend preventive measures to address risk and protective factors. Communicating both orally and in writing with all levels of management, staff and military personnel. Using data management and reporting systems to collect and organize data drawn from databases. Monitoring and responding to reports regarding planning and strategies. Conditions of Employment Continued: As a position of trust and an IT II position, employment is conditional on the successful completion of an Access National Agency Check Investigation (ANACI) and contain no convictions of sexual assault and domestic violence. Any violent criminal behavior determined by the commander, supervisor, or other appointing authority to be inconsistent with IPP roles and responsibilities. Obtain and maintain a current Official Passport to facilitate travel to training and to coordinate tasks/actions with clients, command and military and civilian agencies within the Pacific Fleet Area of Responsibility. Training Requirements. Required to complete initial training, consisting of DoD-approved training courses. DoD uses a five-level education and training system. IPC will obtain and maintain the appropriate level of training and education for their role and setting, in accordance with DOD INSTRUCTION 6400.11. Physical Demands: Incumbent’s work of the position is primarily sedentary. Attendance at meetings involves either walking or driving to and from various buildings. Occasional lifting up to 20lbs may be required.Incumbent may be required to conduct business in a shipboard environment as well as a shore based office. Work Environment: Work is performed in normal office settings, classrooms, and shipboard or waterfront environments. Incumbent must comply with safety standards identified in the various work environments such as safety equipment, safety shoes, hardhat, eye and hearing protection, etc. Additional Information Continued: Certain incentives (such as Recruitment, Relocation or Student Loan Repayment) may be authorized to eligible selectees. A relocation incentive is generally a single payment intended to offset some of the relocation costs experienced by the selectee. A relocation incentive may be authorized. Position will require travel from OCONUS and CONUS and may include remote or isolted sites. Must be able to travel on military and commerical airecraft for extended periods of time. The NATO Status of Forces Agreement prohibits employment in the U.S. Civilian Component in a host nation of any person who holds dual citizenship of the U.S. and the host nation. For example: A person who holds both Italian and U.S. citizenship may not be employed in the U.S. Civilian Component in Italy; however, that person is not prohibited by the NATO Status of Forces Agreement from employment in the U.S. civilian Component in another NATO host nation of which (s)he does not hold citizenship. Education Applicants must meet the following Basic Requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Applicants must possess Degree: behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position. OR Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. OR Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. Pay retention may be granted when certain conditions are met. Pay Retention will be extended to eligible Department of Defense employees. Military Spouse Preference applicants will be placed at the highest grade for which they have applied and are determined Best Qualified (BQ). A BQ military spouse possesses knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies comparable to others who meet the competitive referral criteria for the specific position. PPP applicants will be placed at the FPL, if determined Well Qualified (WQ). To receive priority consideration, the FPL must be the same grade level or equivalent of the retained grade or the grade held immediately prior to separation.
