Job Description:Job summaryThe Reporting Standards Center of Excellence is an internal advisory team responsible for:

  • Producing and owning the content relating to accounting standards in several annual and interim reports (URD, Half-Year Report, Climate Report);
  • Reviewing external disclosures to provide a second line of review and ensure statutory compliance of financial publications
  • preparing Group Executive Committeee (COMEX) and Group Audit Committee presentations on large complex accounting transactions and external reporting , as well as contributing to the governance processes over the Group wide accounts.
  • reviewing complex transactions, in line with IFRS and local accounting standards, reviewing the business documentation and drafting the corresponding accounting memos, in collaboration with business units, local teams, etc;
  • leading the progressive development and alignment of sustainability reporting into audit ready processes building on financial reporting best processes and infrastructure to support the implementation of CSRD in SCOR
  • monitoring IFRS 17 and local accounting standards developments , analysing their impacts and coordinating IFRS or other financial lobbying activities;
  • preparing and conducting IFRS trainings for the finance community
  • developing and documenting SCOR’s accounting interpretations and positions

The CoE is also regularly involved in projects impacting financial reporting.Responsibilities:Key duties and responsibilitiesThe Insurance reporting analyst will be in charge of the accounting analysis and preparation and communication of SCOR accounting policies and position papers.As a member of the Reporting Standards Center of Excellence team, they will also regularly participate in the other missions of the department, such as:

  • in solving IFRS accounting questions and issues through thorough facts finding, research on technical aspects and applying existing SCOR accounting guidance.
  • Build knowledge in non-IFRS and other reporting standards to be able to support business decision makers by assessing impacts in a multi-norm framework.
  • Participate in the review of accounting treatment of deals, transactions and finance projects
  • Contribute to and support research and knowledge sharing topics led by other CoE team members including monitoring of accounting standards news and developments.
  • Draft accounting memos and documents supporting the audit on a range of accounting issues treated
  • Draft the group wide accounting policies and be responsible for subsequent updates and ongoing improvements as required;
  • Contribute to URD and HYR process (producing relevant content, reviewing and reading draft reports) including integration of the sustainability reporting and its into the annual reporting;

Qualifications:Required experience & competenciesExperience:

  • Industry knowledge of (re)insurance business, in particular P&C business
  • Very good knowledge of IFRS 17
  • Experience in auditing and analyzing consolidated financial statements
  • 5-7 years of working in a Big 4 and/or similar experience in industry (reinsurance industry preferably, with expertise in P&C business)

Required Education

  • University degree, business school or other “Bac+5” equivalent
