About the Role

An Institute Technician is required to support the Laboratory Management team in ensuring the safe operation, maintenance and efficient management of the entire research laboratory environment of the Blizard, Abernethy and Wingate Buildings (c700 research staff and students).

About You

The successful candidate will support the Institute’s research activities by ensuring the smooth running of the washroom and autoclave facility.

About the School/Department/Institute/Project

The Blizard Institute was established in 2003 and is one of six Institutes within the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, QMUL. The Institute comprises approximately 360 staff based in four academic Centres and one Public Engagement Centre, and supports a combined total of c700 postgraduate research and taught students. The Institute aims to deliver excellence in all aspects of research, teaching and clinical service.

The post is based at the Whitechapel Campus in London. It is full time (35 hours per week) permanent position, with an expected start date of June 2023. The starting salary will be Grade 2, in the range of £25,761 – £29,948 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
