Write the next chapter of your ABB story.This position reports toProduct & Process Engineering ManagerYour role and responsibilitiesIn this role, you will have the opportunity to join the industrial engineering department and will support the Team for the development, optimization and improvement of injection molding processes and tools to produce protection and energy management devices. The work model for the role is: #LI-Onsite This role is contributing to the Electrification Smart Buildings division located in Santa Palomba plant and main stakeholders are local and global internal teams and external suppliers. You will be mainly accountable for: •Taking care of the development, implementation and continuous improvement of plastic molds and metal press processes. •Providing the equipment technical specification to share with SCM for RFQ activity; conduct comparison of technical offers and guarantee adherence to the technical requirements. Monitor external development progress and set the plan and criteria for equipment validation, installation and startup. •Cooperating with R&D department during project execution phase to ensure and optimize the manufacturability of new product, supporting the cross-functional team, joining the weekly update meeting and providing all the deliverables in charge of engineering department. •Defining the specifications of a new production process to achieve the targeted product cost and equipment investment budget and evaluate operative deviation vs targets. •Supporting the evaluation of new process technologies to improve productivity, quality and cost reduction, defining and leading testing activities and approval criteria. •Identifying and recommend improvement opportunities and implement improvement projects, ensuring adherence to timeframe, quality and cost requirements. •Providing support to Production during external process start-up and evaluate with the supplier a maintenance action plan.Qualifications for the role

  • You enjoy working with 2D/3D Cad software.
  • Have established skills with Office package (Office Excel and Access).
  • Possess an enhanced knowledge of plastic and metal materials: knowledge of injection molding and metal press process will be considered a plus; experience in production and/or quality aspects of production processes will be considered a plus.
  • You are passionate about Teamworking, problem solving attitude and learning agility.
  • Diploma from a technical institute or bachelor’s degree in mechanical/materials engineering.
  • You are at ease communicating in Italian and intermediate knowledge of English.
