to the jobASMLs electron optical competence center is located in Delft. Development & Engineering (D&E) department in Delft designs the modules of the Multi e-Beam Inspection tools. At the Delft premises we operate a clean room, mechanical prototyping facility and an electrical lab. We undertake various activities in these facilities such as research tests, product integration and verification tests.Role and responsibilitiesIndustrialization Design Engineer analyzes and executes individual, mono disciplinary engineering tasks, contributes to design and/or responsible for designing a component. Takes ownership for component design within the established design plans. Understands how own design fits within a module. Works together with people in the same or adjacent/interfacing teams. Interfaces with established suppliers on known products. Understands engineering problems related to own tasks and proposes several design solutions to solve the problem, in an environment with some technical uncertainties. Works independently, within practices and procedures, issues are discussed with team’s PO and GL. Receives oversight and guidance on quality adherence. Plans own work with limited help of Lead Engineer and Architect. Responsible for driving the industrialization of our systems with a cross-sector approach to design for maturity, deliver work preparation and close the operational feedback loop. Contributes to system level Key Performance Indicators (KPI) linked to Availability, Reliability, Cycle time and/or Costs. Integrates and verifies the PGP industrialization deliverables for availability, sequences, diagnostics, cost of goods and upgrades. Innovates on industrialization product and process maturity to support competitiveness of our future products.Education and experience
- Master degree with limited experience or equivalent working and thinking level. In-depth knowledge of own tasks within own area of expertise and basic sub-module & module knowledge.
- Limited experience in Mechanical Design Engineering, Customer Support or Manufacturing filed is beneficial.
- Mono disciplinary knowledge.
SkillsResearchCarry out a range of research activities either to support others or to fulfill the requirements of the role. Design Requirements and specifications. Identify, elicit and document project/process requirements using appropriate modeling technique if required. Analyze requirements and validate with original users, eliminating confusion. Define the testing approach and/or test cases and verification criteria to ensure requirements are met. Maintain documentation and traceability throughout project.FeasibilityContribute to and support feasibility studies from a technological and organizational perspective, and document findings.ConceptualizationContribute to the development of and implement feasibility testing of proposed engineering solutions to provide feedback and data to validate the design.Preliminary designAnalyze and specify the System Engineering Guideline documents, according System Engineering Guidelines (SEG), including the constraints given by the requirements of Manufacturing, Logistics, Customer Support, Costs and Market. Prepare high level design of the (sub-) module fulfilling the requirements set while addressing architectural and interface choices. Document the high level design in the relevant SEG documents.Detailed designContribute to the development of and implement feasibility testing of proposed engineering solutions to provide feedback and data to validate the design. Detail out the design including its documentation.Product quality / TestingConduct reviews for own designs, participate in reviews of other designers’ designs, contribute to the specification of Qualification-, Integration-, and Production- Tests, design and produce associated test tools, realize the qualification of the design by ensuring the proto production, execute tests and report results. Use product specifications to design test procedures and standards. Contribute to the development and execution of test cases to provide feedback and data to validate the design including its documentation”.SafetyAdheres to ASML’s environment, health and safety (EHS) policies, procedures and mandatory instructions; identifies and mitigates safety risk and safeguards the environment and well-being of oneself and others.Project managementContribute to optimal teamwork by supporting problem solving, bringing up any concepts, giving input and execution of tasks. Provide effort estimates for own or similar tasks.Communication and documentationEnsure adequate Product Information /Technical Product Documentation (TPD) to qualify, integrate, produce and test the product. Define the specifications to pack, transport, install, use, maintain and scrap the product and contribute to the documentation. Ensure Product documentation is up to date and relevant underlying assumptions and restrictions are documented.KnowledgeKeep own know how on the discipline and specific technology, means and methods up to date, in order to apply the best technology in the Product Generation Process and to effective and efficient develop, produce, use and maintain the products.Contribute to the extension of ASML’s technology base, in the discipline, in order to realize high quality, state of the art competitive design conceptualization.To thrive in this job, you’ll need the following skills:
