As an electrician you are responsible for installing and commissioning various electrical installations, mainly in the tertiary sector and industrial buildings. This includes mounting and connecting electrical cabinets, installing sockets, switches, lighting fixtures, data cabinets, and so on. It can also mean installing installations for industrial customers, such as automated production lines. You pull cables, install cable ducts for the power supply of machines, and connect cables to motors, distribution boxes and various sensors, such as inductive sensors and photocells. Requirements As an electrician you must have a diploma in (industrial) electricity or automation, or demonstrable equivalent experience. It is essential that you have technical insight, are customer-oriented and can work in a well-organized manner. You must be able to work independently as well as in a team to be successful in this role. In addition, the ability to read electrical diagrams is a requirement, and possession of a valid driver’s license is necessary for this position.
