Do you want to redefine the treatment of chronic diseases with innovative solutions that benefit people and the planet? 

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Industrial Designer to join our multidisciplinary Design team for the rest of 2025 and play a key part in shaping the future of healthcare.

The position
As our new Industrial Designer, you will be a part of our innovation focused Design Team, shaping patient-facing treatment solutions. You will be working closely with teammates across design disciplines and colleagues from user research, usability, engineering, as well as partners across the broader organisation focused on commercial and manufacturing perspectives of healthcare innovation and product development. 

This position is parental leave cover and is a fixed term contract until the end of 2025.

Your key responsibilities will be focused on:

-Helping to identify healthcare innovation opportunities that bring value to people through a considered application of user insights
-Shaping innovation opportunities into elegant and appropriate design and experience solutions, with a focus on tangible products and a consideration of the wider treatment ecosystem
-Creating and communicating design concepts, models and prototypes to progress understanding and foster alignment around a unified design vision
-Driving concept maturation through independent and collaborative concept development 
-Planning and facilitating design workshops within your own and others´projects
 

The role will be based in our design studio in Hillerød (just north of Copenhagen).

Qualifications
To be considered for this position, we expect you to have:

-A bachelor’s or a master’s degree in industrial design from a respected design or art school
-At least, 4 years of experience working in industry as a designer as part of in-house or consultancy design teams
-A rich portfolio of work showcasing your ability to deliver physical products from concept to market and the breadth of your problem-solving skills and unique design touch 
-Proven, rounded industrial design skills:
             o    Ability to utilise research insights to drive the design process;
             o    Concept generation and divergent problem-solving skills;
             o    Engaging storytelling and presentation;
             o    Excellent visual communication, sketching and 2D illustration;
             o    Ability to articulate ideas in 3D through hands-on physical modelmaking and industry standard digital tools such as Rhino, Solidworks, Keyshot etc.;
             o    A solid understanding of colour, materials and production processes
•    Professional proficiency in English (written and spoken)

An understanding of design’s impact as a profession, and your responsibility as a designer, is an innate part of your professional and personal outlook, with sustainability a core driver of your creative approach. This strategic perspective is balanced with a strong connection to the craft of design. You possess a rigorous attention to detail and focus on the finesse with which solutions are executed. 

You are a natural collaborator who is comfortable working with a diverse range of partners and stakeholders within a large organisation and flourish working within a busy and evolving environment.

Novo Nordisk Design is part of the Delivery Solutions Innovation (DSI) area within Novo Nordisk Devices & Delivery Solutions, an organisation responsible for the development of human-centered solutions for medical self-treatment within all business areas of Novo Nordisk.

DSI is a diverse team of over 150 experienced professionals – designers, researchers, engineers, scientists, and prototyping specialists, focused on multi-modal healthcare innovation – from connected injection devices to regulated software products.
