IdiPAZ selects Postdoctoral research contract (PI6011/Perez)
Offer DescriptionIdiPAZ seeks a doctor in health sciences (Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics) under the category of Associate Researcher to join a research project directed by Dr. Antonio Perez Martinez, head of the Pediatric Hemato-Oncology Service and director of the translational research group in childhood cancer, hematopoietic transplantation and cell therapy of IdiPAZ.This is a postdoctoral contract with a duration of three years.The IdiPAZ Health Research Institute is the result of a partnership between the Hospital Universitario La Paz, the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, the Healthcare Advisory Council of the Community of Madrid and the Foundation for Biomedical Research of Hospital Universitario La Paz, which will be the managing body of the Institute. This strategic alliance has made it possible to tackle research projects through joint multidisciplinary teams belonging to these institutions, making the most of the human and material resources available to these entities for research and promoting research fundraising.In 2021, the scientific production of IdiPAZ included more than 1,600 publications (articles, editorials, letters, reviews, etc), 43% of the publications being our own documents. Original research and review articles by IdiPAZ researchers exceeded 1,200, more than 45% in the first quartile and more than 16% were published in journals of the first decile. Researchers from our institute have shown their participation in national and international scientific networks, with more than 81% of the total number of papers published in collaboration (81.3%). As for collaborative publications, almost 56% were national collaborations and 45% were international collaborations.Since our formal incorporation as an Institute in 2009, we have been implementing measures and actions of particular importance that have laid the foundations for a new organizational culture based on equality, diversity and non-discrimination. This commitment leads to all workers being involved in a common project that ensures continuous improvement in our institution, in this line, the Institute / Foundation is certified in ISO 9001:2015 and UNE 166002:2021.Where to apply E-mailgestionrrhh@idipaz.esRequirementsResearch Field Biological sciences Education Level PhD or equivalentSkills/QualificationsThe postdoctoral contract is part of a project to search for new therapies to treat pediatric rhabdoid tumors, based on genetic and immunological dependencies. We seek to generate a nationwide biobank of TRs and develop patient-specific hypotheses based on their genetic, epigenetic and immunological profile that will help us find more effective treatment combinations with fewer side effects to current treatment strategies. Among the specific objectives:
– Establish a national biobank of TRs (ATRTs and eMRTs).
– Molecular and immune characterization of ATRTs derived from patient tumors.
– Establish primary models (in vitro and in vivo) of patients with ATRTs and eMRTs and compare their molecular and immune profile to that of the original patient tissue.
– Identify therapeutic combinations based on preclinical evidence for ATRTs and eMRTs.
– Explore, design and validate a CAR-T/NK cell therapy to treat these types of tumors.
– Validate selected treatments in vitro in orthotopic patient-derived in vivo models.
– Establish national collaborations with other groups working on TRs to advance translational research on the disease.Specific Requirements-Ph.D. degree in biomedical sciences with a date of attainment on or after January 1, 2023.
-Experience in cell culture and having worked with cell lines and/or primary cell lines of solid or hematological tumors; experimental techniques such as flow cytometry, Western blot, Sanger, qPCR and NGS.
-At least one publication as first author in first quartile journals to be eligible to apply for competitive grants.
-Motivated, hardworking person with high degree of responsibility and organization and ability to work in a team.Requirements to be considered:
-Specific knowledge in immunology and immunotherapy.
-Experience in CAR-T cell therapy or cellular immunotherapy.
-Experience in gene expression analysis (qPCR/RNAseq/transcriptome, epigenome, etc) and massive sequencing (WES, WGS).
-Have the title to work with experimental animals.
-Have completed stays abroad.
Eligibility criteriaThe selection process will consist of two phases and the following scale will be applied, out of a maximum of 10 points:-Training and curricular merits: 6 points.-Personal interview: 4 pointsIn the event that two or more candidates match the values and needs of the institution and meet the conditions required for the post, and where there is a tie, the candidate with a certificate attesting to a minimum degree of disability equal to or greater than 33 per cent shall prevail.Selection processOnce candidates send their application to the IdiPAZ email address, their applications are stored until the deadline for receipt of applications for the offer is up.
