Humanities TeacherHarrowFull-time, 1-Year Maternity CoverSeptember 2024Join our thriving Humanities Department and contribute to the delivery of History, Geography, Religious Studies (RS), and Personal Development to Key Stage 3 students. We offer compulsory RS at GCSE, as well as History and Geography at both GCSE and A-level. The timetable will be flexible to accommodate the successful candidate’s specialism(s).Responsibilities:Understand and support the curriculum’s sequencing rationaleProvide curriculum feedback in team meetings or to HoF/HoD or KS CoordinatorEnsure high levels of challenge and support for all learnersUtilize knowledge organizers and review activitiesPromote inclusivity and representationEquip learners for further studiesSecure excellent teaching and learning outcomesApply principles in classroom practiceEnhance subject-specific teaching strategiesPlan and deliver high-quality lessonsImplement effective AfL strategiesSet and assess regular homeworkProvide feedback in line with school policyAchieve excellent outcomes for all learners, including disadvantaged and SEN studentsMaintain high standards in learners’ workDeliver high-quality feedback to learnersFoster enjoyment and relevance of the subjectSupport learners with timely in-class interventionPromote learner confidence and aspirationReward effort and progress fairlyTeach a curriculum that supports spiritual, moral, social, and cultural developmentImplement equality, diversity, and inclusionPromote career opportunities related to the subjectSupport learners at key transition pointsLead or support extra-curricular activitiesPrioritize learner safety and pass on safeguarding concerns promptlyManage learner behaviour consistently and respectfullyEncourage full attendance for learner successKeep parents informed of their child’s progressProvide clear guidance to learners on improving their workEngage with learners through the school’s marking policyUtilize school rewards systems effectivelyAll applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role.
