Humanities Graduate Teaching Assistant Opportunity in StockportTeaching Personnel is seeking a motivated Humanities Graduate to join an Ofsted-rated ‘Good’ secondary school in Stockport as a Graduate Teaching Assistant. This full-time role begins ASAP and will continue until the end of the academic year, with the potential for the position to become permanent based on performance. The pay for this role ranges from £419.25 to £500 per week.Role Overview:As a Humanities Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will be an integral part of the school’s Humanities department, supporting students across subjects such as History, Geography, and Religious Studies. Your key responsibilities will include:Classroom Support: Assisting teachers in delivering engaging and informative Humanities lessons. This includes helping to prepare lesson materials, managing classroom activities, and supporting students during lessons to ensure they remain engaged and understand the content.Targeted Student Support: Working with small groups or on a one-to-one basis with students who may need additional support in understanding key concepts in Humanities subjects. This includes helping students develop their critical thinking, research, and writing skills.Lesson Preparation and Resources: Collaborating with teachers to prepare and organize lesson plans, educational materials, and resources. Your contributions will help create a dynamic learning environment that caters to a diverse student body.Assessment and Feedback: Assisting in marking and providing constructive feedback on students’ work, tracking their progress, and helping them set achievable academic goals.Extracurricular Involvement: Supporting or leading extracurricular activities related to Humanities, such as history clubs, geography projects, or debate teams, fostering a deeper interest in the subjects.Pastoral Care: Providing pastoral support to students, helping them navigate challenges, and promoting a positive school culture where every student feels valued.
