Job Title: Human Resources Rep

Salary: £33,108 – £41,382

Location: Larne

Benefits:

  • 25 days annual leave plus 8 Bank Holidays.

  • Up to 10% bonus

  • Contributory pension scheme – Caterpillar will double the employee’s contribution, up to 6%

  • Contributory share scheme – Caterpillar will match 50% of the employee’s contribution.

Caterpillar Larne is home to the Electric Power business and its principal activity is in the design, manufacture, sale and support of quality standard and customised generator sets and bespoke associated equipment that provide reliable electric power around the world.

The Opportunity

As a Human Resources Representative, you will be required to provide a comprehensive range of HR support to leaders and employees across the Larne facility. This support includes HR advice and coaching on areas such as policy and processes, strategic workforce planning, complex employee relations, performance management and career planning, driving engagement, diversity and inclusion, implementing HR transformation activities, providing professional communications and promoting positive employee relations with key stakeholders, including trade union.

What you’ll do

  • Will support and provide HR guidance to key customer groups within the Larne facility including operations employees, salaried and management employees and leaders at all levels.

  • Strategic workforce planning – encompassing early careers, mid to senior level hiring and vendor management to support a flexible workforce hiring model.

  • Talent & Development – Foster a culture of learning with a strong focus on talent and succession planning that will support development and retention to enable business success

  • Employee relations – will work closely with employees, leaders and Trade Union representatives on all employee relations matters to foster a positive working environment and drive engagement across the facility.

  • HR Projects – Will be involved in a variety of HR projects including wage negotiations, training and upskilling and the ongoing continuous improvement of our HR policies & procedures.

What you’ll have

  • Knowledge of Organization: Knowledge of the organization’s vision, structure, culture, philosophy, operating principles, values, and code of ethics; ability to understand the value of aligning capabilities with business goals to support optimal performance.

  • Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.

  • Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.

  • Interpersonal Relationships: Knowledge of the techniques and the ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner.

  • Data Gathering and Reporting: Knowledge of tools, techniques and processes for gathering and reporting data; ability to practice them in a particular department or division of a company.

  • Employee Relations: Knowledge of the rights and obligations in the employee relations; ability to adhere to legal requirements when handling employee negotiations.

  • HR: Policies, Standards and Procedures: Knowledge of human resource function; ability to uphold the organization’s and industry’s standards, procedures and policies regarding human resources management.

Top candidates will also have

  • Degree or equivalent experience within a related discipline.

  • CIPD qualified.

  • Ability to work proactively on their own initiative, to demonstrate agility while dealing with a varied portfolio of customer groups and business needs.

  • Energy and enthusiasm to get involved and support our drive to improve culture and engagement.
