Assists in providing recruitment and placement service to NAF activities Maintains electronic records, receives and processes requests to fill vacant positions, reviews selections for accuracy, and coordinates with supervisors during the hiring process. Checks for presence of necessary documents, for completion of all necessary items in each document, and for arrangement of necessary documents in proper sequence. Contacts appropriate sources to secure missing data or documents. Provides specific items of information to NAF employees regarding personnel matters Utilizes information found in commonly used regulations, instructions, or manuals. In-processes new employees May maintain Official Personnel Folders, position control registers, office files, group insurance files, etc. May be responsible for processing security checks Maintains control of within-grade increases to ensure due dates are met. Inputs personnel data into the automated NAF personnel data systems to process a variety of personnel actions. Prepares, in final form, the full range of personnel actions. May calculate and submit post and living quarter allowance worksheets. Performs other related duties as assigned. Eligible applicants must possess a US-issued social security number and be able to provide documentation proving residency status in the UK. Documentation could include PCS Orders, UK Visa, etc. Applicants cannot be ‘ordinarily resident’. A person is considered to be ‘ordinarily resident’ if they have resided in the United Kingdom (UK) for more than 366 days without an affiliation to the US Visiting Forces. Time spent in the UK as an employee, or dependent of an employee, of a US agency serving and supporting the US Visiting Forces (i.e., active duty military, federal civilian, AAFES, Red Cross, one of the contract universities, a military banking facility or federal credit union, or US government contractors) is not counted toward being ‘ordinary resident’. In accordance with the Status of Forces Agreement between the US and the UK, British citizens may not apply for US NAF positions; however, they may be eligible to apply for local national positions on base. Dual US/UK citizens may apply for US NAF positions if they have a valid US passport. In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience (MUST BE SUPPORTED IN RESUME): NF-II (Entry Level) – Applicant must have experience in responsible clerical or office work of any kind in which the applicant demonstrated the ability to perform satisfactorily at the pay band level of the position. Knowledge of office automation software (MS Windows, MS Office, including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel) is required. Must be able to read, write, and speak English. Must possess skill in dealing with the public. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Tier 3 background investigation. Knowledge of NAF Human Resources and/or experience processing personnel actions is desired. NF-III (Target Level) – In addition to the above, must have progressively responsible experience that required the applicant to acquire and apply a thorough and comprehensive knowledge of the rules, regulations, procedures, and program requirements of NAF personnel administration. Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution in order to qualify. Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. All Federal NAF employees are required by PL 104-134 to have salary payments made by electronic funds transfer/direct deposit. Probationary period may be required. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from hiring preferences and priority consideration eligible.
