Offer DescriptionObject of the call:A position of average research support technician is called, with an indefinite hiring regime according to the provisions of RD 32/2021 of December 28, 2021, to support the execution of the line of research: Archaeobotany and Environmental Archaeology.Job tasks:The selected candidate will work in the line of research: Production, management and synthesis of archaeobotanical data in South Asia as part of the project Modeling the Agricultural Origins of Urbanism in South Asia, led by Professor Marco Madella in the CASEs research group (Culture, Archaeology and Socio-Ecological Dynamics).The tasks and responsibilities of this site are as follows:

  • Collect bio-archeological data based on published publications and databases.
  • Integrate the data into the project database.
  • Systematically analyze macro and microscopic plant remains from projects inherent in the areas of interest of the project.
  • Develop models using environmental and archaeobotanical data.
  • Field work.

Expected annual remuneration: 31,797 € gross / approximate annualIdentification of contract type: Group 2 letter u, with a full-time dedication of 35 hours per week.This is an indefinite contract not fixed by RD 32/2021 of December 28, 2021, full-time with a weekly dedication of 35 hours.Contract duration:The duration of the contract will be indefinite, not fixed. Reference number: PRESP04822Requirements:GENERALa) A degree in Archaeology or Cultural Heritage.b) Not having been separated by disciplinary proceedings from the service of any of the public administrations, nor being disabled by a final ruling for the development of public functions. In the case of being a national of another State, they are not disabled or in an equivalent situation or have been subject to disciplinary sanction or equivalent that prevents, in their State, in the same terms, access to public jobs.SPECIFICa) Experience in archaeobotanical analysis.
b) Experience in field work in Asia, especially Southern Asia or border areas.
c) Experience in the preparation of reports and/or publications in the field of archaeobotany or environmental archaeology.
d) Experience working with a wide chronological breadth.
e) Experience working with arid climate datasets.
f) Knowledge of English.These participation requirements must be met on the last day of the deadline to submit applications, must be able to be reliably accredited at any time of the selection process, and must continue to be met on the date of signing the contract.Selection criteria:

The selection process will consist of evaluating the documentation presented by the candidates according to the selection criteria mentioned with the possibility, where appropriate, of conducting an interview.The minimum score to pass the selection process is 9 points.Selection Commission:The operation of the selection committees will be by the Regulations on the distance functioning of the sessions of the collegiate bodies of the Pompeu Fabra University (Governing Council Agreement of 9 December 2020), having to always hold the sessions synchronously. In what is not provided for in these regulations, Law 26/2010, of 3 August, on the legal and procedural regime of the public administrations of Catalonia, will be applicable, without prejudice to the basic rules established in article 17 of Law 40/2015 of 1 October on the legal regime of the Public Sector.In the sessions where the candidates must participate, the attendance of the candidates and, at least, of the Secretary of the Commission will be ensured. If a candidate accredits their residence outside Catalonia or justified circumstances prevent their attendance, they may request the Secretary of the Commission to participate remotely.
