Who will you be working with?

Melett Ltd supply precision-engineered turbochargers, core assemblies, repair kits and individual turbo components to the professional turbocharger aftermarket. Founded in 1995, Melett Ltd is the trusted aftermarket brand for precision engineered turbochargers and turbo repair parts and is renowned for producing OE quality products. In 2017 Melett Ltd was acquired by Wabtec Corporation, a leading global provider of equipment, systems, digital solutions and value-added services for freight and transit rail. The Company operates manufacturing sites in the UK and China, with sales and distribution from the UK Head Office as well as facilities in Poland and USA.

Role: HR Manager (On Site)

Salary: £Competitive

Onsite Location: Barnsley, West Yorkshire (S75 1HT)

Hours: Monday to Friday 08:00am to 05:00pm

How will you make a difference?

Are you an experienced HR professional with a passion for driving organisational success through effective people strategies? We are seeking an HR Manager to join our team and play a vital role in partnering with our Leadership team to define and implement business strategies that align with our values.

What will your typical day look like?

  • Collaborate with the Leadership team to support business strategy development and implementation, workforce planning, and culture building aligned with our values.

  • Provide proactive and HR support and advice on employee relations, organisational design, and HR policy implementation.

  • Coach managers on various HR policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with employment laws, and providing guidance on topics like Discipline, Grievance, Diversity & Inclusion, and GDPR.

  • Work closely with Senior Managers and Talent Acquisition on recruitment and selection processes, ensuring talent attraction, recruitment, and retention meet business needs.

  • Support departmental restructuring initiatives, ensuring transparent and legally compliant processes are followed.

  • Provide HR KPIs and reports to assist Managers in making informed business decisions. Ensure effective use of the HRIS system (Workday) to reduce paper-based processes and administrative overhead.

  • Collaborate with Senior Managers to determine departmental training and development needs, maintain a succession plan, and ensure performance management processes are embedded.

  • Support UK HR change projects, Company initiatives, and local business improvement initiatives as needed.

  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of the monthly payroll in compliance with legislative requirements in coordination with the Payroll team.

  • Provide leadership, support, and guidance to the HR Assistant. Mentor and coach team members to support their career development.

  • Employee Engagement: Maintain and develop various employee engagement initiatives and act as a site sponsor for Mental Health & Wellbeing, and communications champion.

What do we want to know about you?

  • Broad generalist HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

  • Up-to-date knowledge of UK employment law and experience in International HR.

  • Experience in managing and developing people.

  • Knowledge of grading and salary benchmarking tools.
