Salary Range

£23,715 – £27,929 per annum

The Human Resources (HR) Department has evolved significantly over the past few years, moving from an operationally based HR focussed service to an integrated strategic business partner model encompassing all strands of HR. There are three teams within HR – the Organisational Development team, Diversity and Inclusivity team and the Resourcing, Operations and Business Partner team.  We currently have a HR Coordinator role in the Resourcing, Operations and Business Partner team where the successful applicant can make an immediate and positive impact on the services we deliver to our circa 3,000 employees.

Our HR Coordinators provide an efficient and proactive administrative service and are the first point of contact for advice throughout the full employee lifecycle. The team is at the heart of our front-line service delivery, and we are now strengthening this service provision and have a number of efficiency and improvement projects in the pipeline.  The role is primarily systems based ensuring employee records are up to date and employment correspondence generated, therefore attention to detail and an ability to manage a heavy transactional HR workload is key. As a result of the improvement projects, there are also opportunities to develop wider HR knowledge and experience in areas such as onboarding, visas, servicing employee relations meetings and internal promotion cycles.

To be successful, you will have previous relevant experience in an HR environment, with excellent customer service skills and experience of using HR databases and systems.  You will be dealing with a wide cross section of people across LJMU and therefore an ability to build rapport and maintain good working relationships is essential.

In return, we offer an excellent benefits package including generous annual leave entitlement, pension scheme, induction and development support as well as family-friendly policies.

This is an exciting time to join the University; we have just entered our bicentenary year and will be launching our 2023-2030 People Plan which builds on the success of our previous strategic plan and gives us a platform to deliver real change to our employees.

If you feel that this is the role you have been looking for and your skills and experience can make a real difference at LJMU, we look forward to hearing from you.

Proposed Interview Date: Thursday 2nd March 2023
