Salary: £21,000.00 – £25,000.00 per annum

Their beautiful setting inspires and creates fun experiences that enhance learning and progress.Main Purpose of the Role:As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will support high-quality teaching and learning for young people with social and emotional difficulties, anxiety disorders, and mental health needs. You will assist in increasing academic and vocational qualifications and knowledge while helping students achieve independent living skills.Key Duties:
- Assist in the development and delivery of the curriculum, considering the educational, physical, and social needs of the students.
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff and other members of the multi-disciplinary team.
- Support the planning and delivery of lessons in accordance with the curriculum.
- Help set, monitor, and review personalised targets to optimise learning for each student.
- Assist in the review of Statements and EHC plans, PEP, and LAC reviews.
- Provide support in maintaining lesson structures that promote pace, motivation, and challenge.
- Support the development of the curriculum offer and stay updated on current issues in the field of autism.
- Assist in managing resources and budgets as required.
- Be flexible and ready to lend a hand wherever needed.
Successful Candidate Qualities:Essential:
- HLTA qualification or equivalent Level 4 teaching assistant qualification with evidence of in-service training.
- Experience in supporting the teaching of students at Entry level 2 & 3, and GCSEs.
Desirable:
- Experience working in a school environment, ideally in specialist education.
- Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Effective skills in planning, preparation, recording, and reviewing students’ progress.
- Good IT skills and an understanding of how IT can support learning.
- Ability to remain calm and reflective in a challenging environment.
- Proven ability to work independently, organise effectively, prioritise, and meet deadlines.
- Ability to engage students in positive, enabling relationships.
