About The Role

Milestone Infrastructure is currently looking to recruit Health, Safety &Wellbeing Advisor to work with our Projects team contract in the Southern area. (Oxfordshire, Hampshire and surrounding areas as required)

The purpose of this role is to provide functional Health, Safety and Wellbeing advice, guidance and coaching to project teams. The position supports the Project Director, or(Senior) Project Manager in establishing and maintaining the highest Health, Safety and Wellbeing standards for the project.

As the Health, Safety & Wellbeing Advisor your duties &responsibilities will be:

• Advise, guide and coach all personnel on the project with the implementation of the Milestone Infrastructure Management System (MIMS)
• Advising the (Senior) Project Manager / Director on project compliance with MIMS and statutory provisions
• Advise the (Senior) Project Manager / Director on maintaining the Health & Safety competence matrix
• Support the (Senior) Project Manager / Director in the production, review and implementation of the Construction Phase Plan and supporting documentation
• Communicate effectively (Accurate, Relevant and Timely) with their line manager, particularly with the escalation of incidents
• Support the (Senior) Project Manager / Director in the incident investigations procedure and timely communication of the findings including lessons learnt
• Assist the business with the accurate, relevant and timely reporting and recording of incidents
• Maintaining the Milestone Infrastructure Incident Management system
• Monitoring HSW performance of the project, contractors, designers, suppliers and reporting the (Senior) Project Manager / Director
• Undertake the prescribed number of HSW audits and inspections as required by the MIMS, or business programmes
• Liaison with supply chain, designers, suppliers, client, enforcement agencies and other relevant parties
• Assist with the development, regular review and update of MIMS
• Support the business to win work. When directed complete Pre-Qualification Questionnaires (PQQ) and tender enquiries
• Identify and produce award submissions (e.g .RoSPA)
• Contribute to the development of the MILife (overall) / It Starts With Me (HSW) culture across Milestone
• Support the business in building winning teams through promoting campaigns, attending and contributing to meetings etc.
• Ensure that all monthly reports are completed and submitted, including the maintenance of accurate statistical records

Skills & Knowledge Requirements:

Essential

• Previous experience in relevant field of Construction (civil engineering projects)
• NEBOSH General Certificate or NVQ equivalent
• Technician, or Graduate membership of IOSH. Demonstrable experience of working as part of a high performing team

Desirable:

• Working towards chartered membership of IOSH
• NEBOSH diploma
• NEBOSH National Certificate in the Management of Health and Well-being at Work
• MSc / PGD in Occupational Health & Safety Management or equivalent
• NVQ level 4 or above in Occupational Health & Safety
