About the vacancy: We have an exciting opportunity for two Health & Safety Advisers to join our multidisciplinary Health and Safety Team at the UWE Bristol. We provide professional advice, support and guidance across the whole of the University on a wide array of relevant legislation. One role is to work closely with our Academic Colleges and the other supporting our Student Journey Directorate Services. Candidates are welcome to apply for both roles and can note this within the application process.In this role you will work as a business partner to the University’s Student Journey Directorate Team.Student Journey Directorate works in collaboration with the University’s colleges and other professional services departments to provide a comprehensive range of support, guidance and specialist services to all students.The role will also take the lead in working to continually improve the University health and safety management system. This will include reviewing, developing and practically implementing policy’s and guidance and maintain a comprehensive annual organisational wide audit and training programme.We are looking for someone who has practical experience in developing, improving and maintaining health and safety management systems in a large and complex organisation across a diverse range of health and safety risks. You will also work collaboratively with the rest of the Health and Safety Team as part of our day to day work.   • a proactive professional health & safety adviser
  • able to work and advise across a diverse range of risk topics
  • experienced at working in a large complex organisation
  • enthusiastic and able to engage and influence at all levels
  • skilled with core health & safety competencies of auditing, training, developing and implementing policy’s
  • able to demonstrate your commitment to continual development
  • holder of NEBOSH Diploma or similar and Certified (CertIOSH)
  • able to develop and deliver innovative improvements to health and safety management systems
  • someone who enjoys collaborative team working and can lead by example as a business partner
  • good at analysing and interpreting data, drafting complex reports and have excellent IT skills
