ESTEC, Noordwijk, NetherlandsDescriptionHead of the Technology and Products Division in the Systems, Strategic Programme Lines and Technology Department, Directorate of Connectivity and Secure Communications (D/CSC).DutiesReporting to the Head of the Systems, Strategic Programme Lines and Technology Department, you will be responsible for:

  • management of the ARTES Core Competitiveness Generic Programme Line, which is dedicated to the development, qualification and demonstration of products (Competitiveness and Growth) and long-term technology developments (Advanced Technology). Products relate to the space segment domain, the ground segment domain or an end-to-end telecommunications system integrating a network with its space segment;
  • coordination of the development of non-generic satellite technologies and products under the ARTES Core Competitiveness (CC) Programme Line relating to the implementation of projects under the responsibility of the Satellite Programmes Department (CSC-P) and which are delegated to CSC-P;
  • management and implementation of the activities funded by ARTES CC, as well as the implementation of the activities funded by the Strategic Programme Lines under the ARTES CC Implementing Rules;
  • management of the ESA team, covering space segment and ground segment activities;
  • provision of engineering support to telecommunications projects and activities, with an emphasis on the adoption of innovative and disruptive technologies in the satellite communication domain;
  • coordination of the ARTES Core Competitiveness Programme Line with the other R&D programmes of the Agency;
  • coordination of the technical support provided by other ESA Directorates and ESA’s Security Office in collaboration with the D/CSC Business Control and Programme Management Support Office.
