Head of Procurement Excellence, Corporate Procurement
We are seeking a Head of Procurement Excellence to spearhead the development and implementation of Lundbeck’s global procurement strategy, focusing on value generation through transformative sourcing efforts, simple/lean operations, compliance, and sustainability as well as procurement capability building. In this key role, you will manage key global processes, from system optimization and digitalization to strategic procurement tools and sustainability programs, ensuring procurement excellence throughout the organization.
Your new role – why is this a great opportunity?
As the Head of Procurement Excellence, you deliver critical initiatives that will take Corporate Procurement to the next level. You will play a crucial role in integrating sustainability into our procurement and supply chain operations, promoting collaboration across teams, and delivering tools and data that empower the entire procurement organization. Additionally, you will anchor the corporate procurement strategy, ensuring it aligns with our business goals and promotes digital transformation, spend and savings transparency, and procurement excellence measurement and compliance. You will own our cross-functional enablers in the Corporate Procurement organization ensuring relevant sourcing infrastructure, supply chain sustainability, contract repository and our procurement toolbox is in place. Furthermore, you will work with the Management team on building up procurement capabilities through our Procurement Academy ensuring that we develop capabilities within and beyond procurement.
You will be an essential part of the Corporate Procurement Management Group and together with this team, develop Corporate Procurement in becoming a strong strategic business partner to our business. You will be a key in the sparring with the global organization in terms of resolving challenges and ensuring that we make the right data driven decisions for the business and our capital re-allocation ambition.
Your future team
Corporate Procurement is a global team of skilled professionals located in Copenhagen, Krakow and Chicago. There is little hierarchy, we believe everyone’s voice should be heard and understand the significant value of differing opinions, backgrounds, and personalities. You will join a fast-growing team within Corporate Procurement, where we are committed to supporting Lundbeck’s global operations with strategic sourcing and procurement excellence. The work environment is international and collaborative, with a focus on adaptability, empowerment, and fostering culture of trust and psychological safety.
You will be leading a team of app. 3-5 people in direct reference and in addition work closely together with our Group Business Services in Krakow that support key procurement processes and systems. Each team member is very self-driven, and the leadership style should reflect the ability to stay in the helicopter view while ensuring solid deliveries towards the rest of the global team. You will be expected to ensure that personal development is integrated in the day-to-day leadership of everyone.
Key Responsibilities

-Procurement Strategy Leadership:
Support implementation of Lundbeck’s Corporate Procurement Strategy, anchoring our organizational focus areas and delivering on transformation initiatives.
-System & Process Optimization:
Lead the transformation of Source-to-Pay (S2P) and Procure-to-Pay (P2P) processes, consolidating purchasing workflows into a single, automated interface for end users.
-Business Intelligence & Dashboards:
Create and maintain procurement dashboards, ensuring transparency and tracking of KPIs for business partnering, compliance, and process improvement.
-Market Analysis and Trends:
Conduct regular market analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and threats in the procurement landscape. Leverage insights to inform strategic sourcing decisions and enhance competitive advantage.
-Performance Metrics and Reporting
: Establish and monitor performance metrics for procurement activities. Provide regular reports to senior management on procurement performance, savings achievements, and strategic initiatives.
-Savings and Budgeting:
Develop and ensure adherence to defined savings methodologies and collaborate with Finance to ensure savings are linked to organizational budgets, integrating Corporate Procurement into budget processes.
-Category Management Framework Development:
Collaborate with category managers and sourcing Directors to develop a comprehensive category management framework that aligns with Lundbeck’s strategic goals.
-Sustainability: Develop and develop Lundbeck’s procurement sustainability strategy, working closely with the business to integrate sustainability practices into procurement and supplier relationships.
-Digitalization and Compliance:
Be owner of procurement policies and lead efforts in digitalizing procurement operations, ensuring full compliance and developing tools to facilitate professional procurement practices across the organization.
The position is based in Copenhagen/Valby, Denmark.
What you bring to the team
As our new Head of Procurement Excellence, you must first and foremost be a recognized and inclusive people leader, a strategist, and an honest influencer. You are someone who brings extensive functional experience to the table but understands that the best ideas and solutions come from inviting in and listening to diverse minds.
Qualifications:
-Accredited Master’s Degree preferably within Supply Chain/Procurement, Finance, or Economics
-Minimum 3-5 years Procurement Leadership experience in leading teams with a focus on building diverse and high performing team in a global company environment.
-5-10 years’ experience working with procurement and/or supply chain in international organizations or a consultancy company.
-Experience with procurement digital tools and end2end procurement platforms (S2C/P2P)
-Experience driving organizational transformation and change management across all organizational layers.
-Experience with or a great interest in climate and environmental agenda and how to drive sustainability throughout the supply chain
-You have professional proficiency in English. Danish is useful, but not required.
